I have had a disaster. I have managed to dye my whites blue. Can anyone recommend any products. They are mostly school shirts and M & S cotton blouses.

Keep your chin up, living in the same city you do back when I was a student I lived on a very notorious concil estate, it was quite terryfying and once my sister and I even got asked if we were prostitiutes, by someone who wanted to hire us..
However, the good news is I survived and even met some good people. I belive the estate had a big make-over a few years after I left and became one of those up and comming areas near the city centre. Its probably dropped back again.

anyway you have done wonders and all areas need someone who keeps trying no matter waht is going on around you.

That comment took me back to the very early 70's when I was 16/17. I used to walk everywhere, and went to night school. The route I took was a pretty normal one, but without fail, every time I was stopped by men, in cars, walking, trying to lure me either into their cars or a pub! I got so fed up with it, and at times was quite scary as some were so persistent. I was quite naive, but not that naive. Not sure if it was prostitute alley (wasn't aware of any women loitering), whether I looked so young (looked younger than 16), or was an amazing beauty and hadn't realised it!

    And a bow for my cello. :j :j :j

(Doesn't that sound posh - 'my cello'? :D)

Just have to fit about twenty years of lessons and experience into a few months to get it sounding good enough to me :)

Thanks guys. I have sent DH to the shops so I shall see what he comes back with for my non-white whites!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Byatt, i will check my curly girl boom for an explanation, but i conditioner only my hair now, ans a good scalp scrub does the same as a good facial scrub, or thats how it feels. :)

I am so sore and tired tonight, there is no way i can sort anything out.

These days are awful for me. I cannot do anything normal. My hit of kitchen surface is luttered. Well. It would take me five minutes or so to sort out, with soreness i cannot contemplateceven trying.:(. Its easy to see how work builds up.

I didn't think I'd have time to do much dejunking today as I was out most of the time (including a trip to Ikea  ) but as I needed to go up to the Dark Realm of the attic to tweak the CH timer I spent ten minutes sorting out a few things for our monthly Scout car boot sale. So that's a couple of biggish bags gone. I also sorted out some cones of yarn to take to a craft Bring & Buy charity event at the weekend. I also found a brand new sofa cover for an Ikea sofa, I'd clearly bought it in the sale thinking I was going to buy the sofa at some point! It's for a 2-seater Ecktorp (sp?) sofa and is black denim, still in packaging. Worth putting on Ebay?

I'm not safe in Ikea, am I? I didn't buy much today, just a purple fleece blanket for DD's ongoing purple room revamp, a new plastic thingie for the sink (old one broke), some batteries and a giant purple alarm clock for DD's birthday next month. I also got her a (purple) duvet set and a (purple) chenille throw but they were half price at Mr S across the road so they don't count, do they? :rotfl:Anyway, I've thrown out all her duvet sets apart from the one she's got on her bed atm!

So stuff in today but at least other stuff is going out to balance it, no?

  • Morning all!

I have had warm feet all morning, thanks to the carpet upstairs keeping some of the draughts out as I got up.

The Idiot Cat has finally worked out how to get back in through the kitchen window, so the back door can be shut when it's cold. It sounds like I'm being burgled when he does it, but that's a small price to pay for not having the entire downstairs like a cold store. I checked yesterday morning and it was eight degrees Celsius colder downstairs that up - that's the best part of 15 degrees Fahrenheit/in old money difference.

Old cat has been medicated - she played up today, so she got the pill shoved in, instead of gentle feeding via catstick. She's currently sulking upstairs as a result.

I'm sure there's stuff I should be doing right now. But I can't for the life of me think what it is.

Hope everyone and their families are doing well/getting better as appropriate.

This was the one DH got. I think it was the only one Tesco had. It has worked on the school shirts and most of the other stuff. I have a couple of blouses still in soaking.

I have been saying for a few weeks that I hate having all our mugs mismatched. So DH bought a load of matching ones yesterday. This would be most pleasing except we are all struggling to let go of the others - don't think we've ever bought mugs before - they've always been given to us. Once they are out of the house, it will be fine, but that will be a job for tomorrow I think.

House looked terrible last night so we have all been grouchy and out of sorts this morning. I have sorted the kitchen so it feels better now. But we won;t have time to declutter today.

I am going to spend the weekend scanning stuff in. I have piles of folders of old paperwork that have been hanging around half done for days and it is really getting to me. Even the folder patterns remind me of quite a stressful period of my life or stressful people.

This is probably a moany post but I am quite cheerful now. Have been watching Mrs Biggs, and Bletchley Circle and really enjoying them, especially the historic aspect. Also caught half of 'Double your house for half the money' or whatever it is called. It's not quite what I imagined but has some good ideas.

Have your evil cats been giving my toddler lessons? She was ever so good yesterday and is scratching me and being a pain today; not specifically naughty so you can address a particular issue, just general not-very-niceness, when we have a lot to do.
