Poor thing elona, she has been stuck in there a while now, which means they are taking it setiously.

Full day here. Vet this am, friend child from lunch time onwards and then the architect and site meeting( child in tow) this afternoon. Not sure whether or not dh is coming home tonight yet.
  • Hi everyone,

Didn't do much yesterday as we went out to watch the Tour of Britain which was brilliant. So we ate out which meant the house was as we left it and we created no washing up (I hate washing up).

I donated a pair of shoes, I don't know if anyone else occasionally buys things knowing they're not the right thing but they're needed right then and there for a reason. Well, it was one of those purchases, I was mad to buy the shoes and I wore them on Sunday and they were uncomfortable and I don't even like them. So they're gone. I also bought some new underwear and chucked some old stuff away - something I've needed to do for a long time.

    Have a good day everyone.
  • Elona - I am glad the antibiotics are working and the pain is less. How long to do they think it will be for the scans? It must be incredibly draining for you to keep all the plates spinning. Sending positive vibes to you and your daughter.

alec eiffel - that is a big step, getting rid of something that you just didn't get right. That is so hard for me - it cost money so I need to keep using it even if it is inappropriate. I now feel a little bit more encouraged to just admit to a mistake.

Actually, speaking of which, I got rid of a load of jif lemons that I got from AF. They are great for cleaning, but so elderly that they are definitely not fit for human consumption. However I thought that if I needed a mild acid I could use vinegar which I have anyway for lots of different things, and I could really use a gap in the space they were occupying. So they are gone. They weren't even efficient at keeping the local cats off chicken bones.

lostinrates - I hope the vet goes okay

Jojo - got caught during the school run in something similar yesterday. In five minutes I was completely soaked and my coat is still wet. It was amazing watching the road run literally like a river.

I've got rid of half a dozen puzzle magazines, from either using them up or realising that I am never going to use them up.

I've also been decluttering my @sda 'your favourites' list in the online shopping, though due to an 'interesting' system it can take a while. I'm trying to get junk out from all places.

I'm having a bit of a crash today, so I will see what I can get up to. I am sure if nothing else I can whittle down either knitting or puzzle books (though nearly finished those) or the unwatched stuff on $ky +

    hugs to all

Keep your chin up, living in the same city you do back when I was a student I lived on a very notorious concil estate, it was quite terryfying and once my sister and I even got asked if we were prostitiutes, by someone who wanted to hire us..
However, the good news is I survived and even met some good people. I belive the estate had a big make-over a few years after I left and became one of those up and comming areas near the city centre. Its probably dropped back again.

anyway you have done wonders and all areas need someone who keeps trying no matter waht is going on around you.

  • I managed to get a small bag of things together to donate to the charity shop this morning.

I also found my "Euro tin" (Where I put any leftover currency after holidays) it had much more in there than I thought - 142Euros +change ) So I haven't needed to get many Euros at the currency exchange this morning.

All of the magazines I have been struggling with are now out of the house. There must have been around 100 in total, all have now been given away or recycled.
DH *thinks* there may be more in the loft, but we will tackle that once we return next week.

EDIT: Gingernutty - well done, your room looks amazing!

When you mentioned the elderly plastic lemons I winced as I have five of them in a small bowl on kitchen worktop :o

I squeeze some on top of fish when I bake it in foil and also use it mixed with sugar to remove dry skin on hands. Boy am I going to have smooth hands.;)

Managed to use up the sweet potatoes yesterday and make burgers with them so pleased with myself. DDs textbooks and hairdryer and straighteners as a uni present arrived yesterday so very relieved as feel she has been a bit sidelined due to circs.

DH hoping to be fed so see you later.

I have had a disaster. I have managed to dye my whites blue. Can anyone recommend any products. They are mostly school shirts and M & S cotton blouses.

Elona, so glad the antibiotics are working, and I truly hope the scan shows nothing serious. It's been such a stressful time for you all...:A

LIR, I have curly hair, so what does the scrub actually do and what amounts do you use? :)

WW, I have no idea what to do but I think you can get something to catch the dye but I don't know if it's before of after. :o

Well I went of my first chat with the counsellor today, difficult to cram 59 years into an hour , but we seem to have clicked which I wasn't sure we would when first talking on the phone. She managed to get a real understanding of my ex in about 10 mins! :rotfl:

What she did say, was that I am keeping people at a distance, that I am very isolated...and that the hoarding is a meausure of my chaotic mind (in person I seem very capable and in control and very calm)...and that it is a way for me to keep people away. She also said I hadn't yet moved my hoarding to this other controlled self and that was a good sign.

Just a few things as we are just in the introduction phase but I was very impressed.
