Jojo dh is a musician too. He can play almost everything if you leave him alone in a room with it for half an hour. There are exceptions.
Anyway, he played cello when younger so shout if you need anything.

Re music, we just heard our local jazz festival wil not run next year. Dh is considering getting some mates up and treating the locals to some actually enjoyable jazz instead.

    :rotfl:

I know EXACTLY what you mean there!

I've played jazz bass before and, whilst the sax is honking away like a flock of geese (after the number of times I've been subjected to someone who has just read about double enclosures/Charlie Parker, it's the only way to describe some horn players), I've been wishing for a slightly quicker and marginally less painful death.

There was one, whose wife describes him as a 'living leg end' on his YouTube account , who took something incredibly dirge like and ripped it apart for a full 19 minutes 47 seconds on the first eight bars. Including missing all the lower notes and most of the higher ones. :wall:

I preferred the early jazz/swing or later funkier style stuff, and definitely NOT in B flat.

But I did sneak half of a Blondie track - Call Me - into a particularly long and boring version of So What/Impressions one evening.

It's technically hoarding, as I already have 3 guitars (and need at least two more, one electric and one semi acoustic, a 12 string would be nice too), my beloved bass guitar, a soprano uke, keyboard, bodhran, djembe, vintage open tambourine, recorder, fife, harmonica and a myriad other small items. Plus, I've been promised a handbuilt cajon.

But if anyone ever asks me, I say I just play bass.

Heaven only knows what I could have got up to had I actually been allowed to study music at school. As it was, I ended up playing trumpet for about 2 years and was in the senior school handbell and handchime groups. Oh well. It keeps me off the streets, I suppose.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

If you posted some footage of you playing all your instruments, half of which I have never heard of, then it wouldn't be 'hoarding', it would be 'entertaining'.

I feel very boring, not being a musical, campervanning horserider, I have to say.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

It is what you do with them Jojo - as white wing says, if you're using them& entertaining people, including yourself, it's not hoarding.

White wing, I hope you didn't really mean that about feeling boring, I don't do all those things either, & I don't think of myself as boring!

Dh is pretty flexible, he plays any thing from classical to current, and in jazz, the full remit when he was a professional, but hates trad and what i call 'mad bee jazz' (the local festival is trad) but he is tchnically best in love with hard bop.

So, you play jazz bass too? :)

Having horses and instruments ( i do not knopw about campers) can be pretty boring. Dh is no longer a jobbing musician, though still does some musical stuff. I gave up many years before him. The horses mainly need someone to poop scoop for them. Hardly riveting stuff. ;)

Have been really getting in the swing of binning stuff and the house is already looking better for it.I've shredded down some good food magazines and only kept the bits I wanted in neat files instead..um what else ooh yes cleaned out the pew by the door and relieved it of all the spare/very old and past it gloves, hats and shoes and neatly boxed up the remainders into labelled boxes so not too bad so far :D
