Basically i was convicted of harassing an ex girlfriend, which i did, pleased guilty got punished in court. That was all handled perfectly.

Almost a year later i got drunk on xmas eve and texted her "merry christmas" which breached the restraining order. They waited 6 days to report it.

The police stormed my mothers house, woke my critically ill sister looknig for me...

Now i was at home 40 miles away in the address they had on file for me contactable by phone on the number they had for me. I had a 12 month probation sentence so was seeing an officer once a week, who knew as well all my contact details.

My ex said i "sometimes" stayed at my mums on a weekend. So they storm her house. worst off my mother had no knowledge of any of these events before!!

Couldnt believe the unrproffesionalism and brutality of them!

Did they assault you or your mother?

So you broke the law and got punished. You was then handed a restraining order which you breached, and the police came looking to arrest you.

Seems perfectly reasonable and professional to me.

Actually no. I have zero problems with them arresting me, i committed an offence and accepted all punishment without question!

However they didnt come for me at my home address first, which was also where the offence took place. They entered my mothers property, where i hadnt been for 3 weeks with no reason. They never tried to arrest me where i told them i was!!

    That was what was wrong

    Excellent Local Police.

Had an ipod stolen from my car in 2008, reported it initially nothing really happened, fast forward nearly 4 years I get a call on my mobile from someone whose got my number from the laser etching on the back of my stolen ipod, anyway to cut a long story short 2 Soldiers arrested and questioned by the Military Police, ipod returned not working, sent back to Apple under the nano recall, shiny new ipod received in the post!

    Good and bad from me-
bad first- I was walking home and stopped to chat to some folk. A group of neds came round the corner and one of them started trying to pick a fight. The rest pulled him off and said 'we've already pulled you off one guy, there's more of them than you so you'll get your a*se kicked' and he left. Went round the corner and there was an ambulance just pulling up next to a badly beaten guy. I told the paramedic and they told me to call 999 to check how long til the police showed. The person on the other end said they were too busy to attend and they'd contact me within 24 hours to take a statement. Half an hour later I got a call from the police to say the guy was in a bad way and a police officer was coming round. An while later they showed up and asked to be shown the crime scene. Took them round and then was told they were too busy to do my statement and I has to wait up for another officer. Back of 8 in the morning they finally turned up. Fast forward a couple of months I got a call asking me to do an identity parade. Then they cancelled.and rescheduled. And cancelled. And then I heard nothing for ages. Over a year later I got summoned to court. Informed them I couldn't remember what the guy looked like but told that was irrelevant. And it was cancelled. Rescheduled and I had to travel to Edinburgh. Stood around for almost 2 hours to be told he'd pleaded guilty the day before.
Had several good experiences too though. I reported a car full of idiots who made rude gestures and got a call back the next day to let me know they'd spoken to them and warned them if the got one more report they'd charge them as they'd had complaints abut the driver before.

I'm still struggling to understand that amount of posts slating the police, ambulance and fire services.

Some people in a America can't afford medical treatment. Some even die because of it. I know for a fact, whatever is wrong with me, I can go to a clean hospital with qualified doctors who will try to help me and hopefully cure/ease whatever it is.

Not if you live in Stafford!

Many years ago, soon after I reported a threatening call that I'd received in the night to the police, they phoned me back to ask if I'd had any subsequent incoming calls. When I said not, he advised me to try a 1471, something that had only just been introduced at that time and so many people probably weren't of it.

As I explained to him: "I've already tried that and it was number withheld. Besides which, won't your call have just overwritten any such number ..."!!!!!!!!!!

Big thumbs up for the two policemen that attended when I was attacked by a brain dead leftie thug who took offence at me exercising my democratic rights and dropping a BNP leaflet through his letterbox.

A BNP supporter complaining about violence? Oh the irony!

My daughter got her phone stolen from a friends house, a lovely officer came and took a statement. However, I got a number that had been dialled from the phone by calling the provider - would the Police call that person and ask who had the phone (very limited options, 2 or 3 peeps max)? Em no....unimpressed.

Father in law was a copper - had a 'bad back' therefore retired early on a full package. Nothing wrong with him amazingly - just a con man - not good for Police reputation. Totally unimpressed by him.

Having said that I only know a couple of other Police staff and they are good people - its not a job I envy but some dont do much to enhance the reputation.
