Well, not entirely true. I had a look at the free one over at noddle.co.uk which told me I had a default, but it was on the 'closed list' and marked as 'satisfied'
My mortgage advisor advised that he would be able to get a mortgage on a slightly higher interest rate, however he never actually came through with it and I lost out anyway (the house sold rather quickly)
Anyway, an update to this.
Lee from Voda called me last week and had a look over my issue. He advised he would put my case forward to an internal team for review.
Today, I got a call to say that as a good will gesture, Voda will take the default off my file.
Ive got to wait a couple of days, but hopefully they keep their word.
Thanks Lee for getting this sorted for me, you have no idea how much headache Ive had with loans and mortgages etc.0 -
Can someone please help!!
I have tried to contact vodaphone by phone, email and face to face in store but having no luck as I do not have the mobile number.
I had an outstanding balance with vodaphone which was paid in 2009 and was agreed the default would be removed however this never happened. I only found this out after checking credit file report recently as I have been applying for mortgage.
No one from vodaphone is willing to help without me finding a number however all letters and correspondence were shredded 3 years ago!
Help!!0 -
If they have any information on you and IF they want to find it they will easily do just by your name and address. The low level telephone CS are unlikely to be able to do this because of the data protection issues.
Complain in writing with some copies proving your ID.
However without any proofs that they agreed to remove the default you are unlikely to get it removed now (IMO).0 -

I previously had a contract with vodafone and wanted to close my account and pay the remainder of my contract off early, having thought i had cleared my account, and checking my credit file, i noticed that vodafone had placed a default on my file, i never got any letters from vodafone to say that i was still due a payment either so was a bit shocked, I'am willing to pay the full amount of my account off so it's upto date as i hate bad debt against me.
I have sent a couple of emails but vodafone never seem to reply
Is there anyway vodafone can remove the default? And also take a payment from me to clear my account?0 -

Help!!
Hi, Im new to this site and only stumbled across it through a google search which brought up this thread.
I too am having issues with vodafone!! I have a default on my account from April 2011 and only found out about it through my credit report after a declined mortgage application. I dont ever remember recieving a letter of default notification yet having paid off my debt in full in April 2011 and closing my account my Experian report is still showing "Default" and not "Satisfied". I accept that the default is my fault due to missed payments but when I contact Vodafone to help get my status changed to "Satisfied" Im told there is no record of me on their systems. I shredded all correspondance when my account was settled in April 2011 as I was under the impression I would not need any of the information again. I was told to go into a store as they have a better system - which after going in store this was infact not true!! I feel like im being fobbed off by Vodafone and no one will help. Im at the end of my tether and dont know what to do. Im currently almost 20 weeks pregnant and I dont need this stress!! Can someone please help?0 -
See the post above yours and do what Lee says. He is one of the few people in Vodafone CS capable of doing something sensible and useful.0

Hi Lee,
I have tried to email you via the link on the vodafone page and keep getting an error message.
I have been trying to resolve my issues with vodafone overcharging me for some time now. But have had no luck in succeeding I have called on many occasions and been on the phone for hours also been into local stores on various occasions and had no luck. I really hope you can help resolve my issues please.
I have 3 contracts with vodafone numbers ending 372 and 749 direct debit comes out of my bank acc the number ending 987 comes out of my sisters bank account. Our total monthly bill should be around the £70.00 mark.
1- Called Vodafone over a year ago to apply a bar on internet services for number ending 372 bar was applied yet still we have been charged for internet sometimes up to £20.00 a month on this number when we have not even used it.
2-I have always had a direct debit set up with Vodafone yet they have registered a default on my credit report on the 07/10/2012 for £236.00.
3- I have numerous letters with credits mounting to the value of £80.65 which have not been applied to the account.
4- For the last couple of months vodafone has been overcharging me and my sister I went into a vodafone last month and the SA said there was a billing calculation error she emailed billing resolutions I have still not heard from them.
5- This month vodafone took £60.00 out of my bank acc and £75.00 out of my sisters account. Spoke to customer services on Friday 16/11/2012 who said they would again email billing resolutions. On Saturday the 17/11/2012 they restricted services for all 3 numbers. My sister went into her local vodafone shop where they asked her to call Customer Services so whilst my sister speaking to CS the SA in store refused to speak to my sister regarding the account as she said she could not see authority for her to speak on the account. I authorised my sister to speak on my behalf she has a password setup aswell to speak to yourselves and has not had a problem with this before. She was very dissapointed as she wasted most of her morning in the store.
Can you please help me resolve this as a matter of urgency as we are in a difficult financial situation at the moment and I kindly request vodafone to refund the money they have overcharged to mine and my sisters bank accounts.
I have tried to contact you via the link but keep getting an error message, can you PM me an email address to send details to or is there any other way I could forward you my account details etc.
Kind regards0
