GR-Thanks for the research. It is a pain but I suppose I get used to it to some extent. I add marvel powder to loads of things as this has a few grams of protein for each teaspoon, so pads it out abit. I add meat/poultry/fish where I can and I snack on prawns, chunks of cheese etc.
Your menus sound delish and i think you do so well with a new baby etc.
Well done girl!

Thanks, Penny-Pincher. Yours doesn't sound like an easy diet to manage. You sound like you cope remarkably well. I'm just updating the thread at the moment. I'll be putting links to a couple of recipes later. As a veggie I try to think about protein but obviously not to the same extent as you. For example, lentil lasagne is protein rich (cheese, milk, lentils) and with wholemeal lasagne sheets it improves it, as does having brown rice with the lentil curry. But I don't really do too much, especially as it would make it too fibre heavy for my toddler (who eats enough fruit and veg to sink a battle ship every day as it is!)May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

This was last week's delivery. Everything tasted great. The leeks were so sweet and I have barely seen the fruit as it's been snaffled by the rest of the family.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
I'm not brave enough to make a quiche yet, so I'm going to try broccoli soup using this recipe. Now it's out there I have to do it!
Unfortunately I can't find the receipt for last week's shopping so I can't provide a running total of spends, but I'll work out a rough idea so I can keep track. The intention is to aim for under £35 per week, although some weeks will be more, hopefully others will be less.
Edit: I had a cold last week. Gave up on the soup. We just had the broccoli as a side dish.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -

This is the delivery for week 3 (minus the eggs.)May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Hi Gingham, tried the lentil shepherd's pie tonight and what a great success. Have to admit it was slightly flavoured with a rather expensive wine - with a tiny smidgen of chicken breast for the non-veggie element - but would have been a great hit without - but it is Saturday evening and we've been good all week! Thanks for this.
PS could not see the picture of your delivery for week 3 (is it just me?).
Hope you manage a long lie in tomorrow (Sunday) - see you started today's thread very early due to the demands of motherhood!0 -
Thanks, organic wannabe. I'm glad you liked it. I hadn't thought of adding wine to it. Great idea. Yes, the baby fed almost constantly till a couple of hours ago, so around 30 hours! Mad growth spurt. So I'm having pringles tonight. (Blush!)
The kale pesto was a success and prompted me to start a thread encouraging others to have a go at making pesto with seasonal veg. (I can't remember if you've posted on it, OW) I'll link to it later, after I've had a look to see why my picture has disappeared.
Edit: I've deleted it from my photobucket account by mistake. Doh. I'll sort it out tomorrow.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Just wanted to say we have had G-R's lentil lasagne this week and it was a real hit -even with the kids!0
