I don't see anything to that effect in the Ts & Cs, but I doubt they would allow it as there would be no point in them having an upper monthly deposit limit if they were going to allow multiple accounts.

thats what i thought as well although it does say its max " per account" and most societies do state if its max 1 account per member/person i have emailed loughborough asking but havent had a reply, might try there ring back facility but try email first to keep societies costs down

Wow - nice attitude, bristol. I wish others would think like this.

When I see posts like "I'll keep my account open with 1p in it so that the bank/society incurs lots of unnecessary costs" it makes me sick. So much better to minimise wasted effort, which reduces costs and resource usage in our financial institutions! :)

yep it is true what i said about me preferring to email rather than get a building society to ring me back in first instance to save them costs although in week i did ask 1 building society to call me ( after they suggested i call them) after 1 postal withdrawel request was ignored and 2 emails ignored i wont name the building society as have to be carefull what u say about people/organisations in public :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ..its another reason y over the years ive opened accounts with 100.00 and not transacted at all to again save the building societies on cost of transacting ( money in and money out etc) :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

guess everyone is human was 1 off them actually :o what happened was i got monthly saver jan payment amount paid in was entered correctly but actual total was incorrect ( it stated amount paid in correctly not running total recorded correctly) i thought it would be noticed when feb payment went in but same cashier didnt notice it so running total was wrong in february as well ( 2 months running)

in march i sent 20.00 cheque( for monthly payment) + letter( on A4 paper) mentioning about book update error + letter asked to withdraw 900.00 ..book came back updated fully no withdrawal done and new cheque credited ,,,after 2 emails not answered within a conversation i had with the society i asked what happens to letters ie are they kept i was told they are scanned but no trace of a letter from me having been scanned, so i said when u get book back again u will see jan+ feb ongoing total both wrong and march total correct ( im saying was corrected in march cos was mentioned in letter i sent with book ) organisations rarely admit to having made a mistake or a shortcoming if they can avoid it ,,book is back in post seeking 900.00 withdrawal as i try and avoid losing interest over weekends ie i try and make withdrawals on a monday so starts earning interest somewhere else before the following weekend;)

this is answer i got from loughborough( 10.26 am 260307) so i guess it illustrates that "theres no such thing as a stupid question" although can sometimes appear like 1

"Thank you for your recent query with regards to the New Regular Savers Plus Account.
I can confirm that it is possible for you to have more than one account" :j

obviously if people have just opened a loughborough account theres no need to resend id as loughborough have recently obtained id on file ;)
