From the look of things it seems all of the people still having issues are on the same ISP, which probably means that they have a prolonged data cache.

    NTL/Virgin users?

If it's the transparent cache problem then these may help:

Excellent, thank you :T I've already done the usual (CCleaner, Adaware, Spybot, reset my modem). I even reinstalled windows (not just for this problem I hasten to add LOL) so I KNEW it wasn't my computer. It's Virgin's fault then :D :rotfl:

I'll check the links out properly when I'm back on my own PC.

in this thread we appear to have some poltergeists. i have my settings set to display 40 posts per page. this thread has 60 odd posts, yet purposts to be 4 pages long. when you click the button for the 3rd and 4th page, it merely refreshes the 2nd page of posts.

i have lost count of the number of time i have attempted to post in this thread. the first time i tried (using the 'quick' reply, it refreshed the 2nd page, and added a 4th page. every time i have attempted after that, it has merely refreshed the 2nd page, but my post is no where to be seen. not it will not allow me to post because my post "is a duplicate of one i have posted in the last 5 mins". an anti spam measure presumably... yet still my post is nowhere to be seen.

i went back to the main arms page, and the thread has been bumped to the top of the board. the last poster apparently is mich city, and the thread has had 126 replies. yet the last post i can see is queenie's post number 64.. no sign of mine, mich's or any subsequent posts.

oh, and i'd bet my life that queenies post was not, as the forum suggests, made at 2.42 am this morning....

the icing on the cake is that according to "see more posts by pavlovs_dog" i have indeed replied several times to the thread. yet no one can see anything beyond what queenie wrote.

i've F5'd til im blue in the face, ive cleared by net files/cookies, and am now reaching the phase where all the constant ongoing problems with the site are starting to make me lose interest. whats the point when it is such a battle to contribute anything to the forums, constructive moneysaving, jovial or indifferent?!

  • Thanks for bringing that to our attention pavlovs_dog, it is truly bizarre. I will be looking into this asap and hope to repair the thread.
  • Hi pavlovs_dog,

Can you please confirm for me whether this is the only thread that's "bugged" for you? We can see a number of strange things happening on it but I need to know if you've seen it anywhere else.

    Thanks,

Yes the forum manager will wave his magic wand and you will be sorted.

Have you tried the various suggestions? because the problem is with your PC or your ISP.

Not sure why you felt the need to be so rude.

The OP stated to list the various information, no where did it imply that the the problem is with my PC or ISP.

If it had, I would've contacted them ages ago.

Pressing Ctrl + F5 reloads the page without using the cache, which proves that your problem is either on your PC or due to your ISP's data cache. What do you expect the forum to do?

My lack of computer knowledge is not something I blame on anyone else, so pressing ctrl F5 proved nothing to me.

I expected the forum team to advise me what to do next.
