Have you checked your UserCP? Look in Edit Options and then look at Default Subscription Mode and by using the drop down menu you can change this there to receive email notification, don't forget to save your changes.

Surely it would be better for the smooth running of the site to change the Default Subscription Mode from "Do not subscribe" to "No e-mail notification" and for users to simply check their subscribed list. Works for me anyway.

I think it's a big mistake not to have automatic email subscription as automatic default.

Those who like the site and plan sticking around will figure out how to set the subscription to their preferred choice. Those who found the site, posted, then forgot about it will be drawn back by the email.

There are a few sites I've joined to ask a question and then forgotten about till a few days/weeks later when a thread has been posted on and I get an email reminder and am drawn back in.

Perhaps the Techies changed the default setting for a reason? Fine if the servers can actually cope with the extra load but as it seems to be a continual firefighting battle to keep the forums running, to receive an e-mail notification every time that a subscribed thread is posted to, seems a bit over the top to me!

I'm happy to check my subscribed list personally, especially if it help to keep the forum running more smoothly.

Does it do that or does it only send one email between logins?

I have never seen the need to set e-mail notification, when I can view my subscribed list of threads in User CP, so I can't answer that.

    As above....

Default for thread subscriptions has changed again (by itself) from Do Not Subscribe to Instant Email Notification and....

although I know the forum and email are nothing to do with each other but again I have been unsubscribed from Martin's Money Tips at exactly the same time as I checked my UserCP.

**dashes off to cost Martin another 50p:))**

Can't thank or see thanks - it takes me to top of the page. It works if I do Ctrl+F5, but I have to keep doing it on every page.

No paragraphs/italics/bold/smilies, etc. Will sometimes work if I've done a post, then Ctrl+F5, then go to edit it, but again, I have to keep Ctrl+F5-ing it every time (this is what I had to do to make this post readable).

When I'm quoting a post in advanced mode, it adds all sorts of weird characters to the quoted post, like <p> and stuff (I'm assuming this means paragraphs?)

I've been having these problems for days now. :(
I've just done a preview and the list of Q&A's has squished up instead of being on separate lines

i've noticed for days now that when i type summat out and leave a gap between paragraphs it won't leave a gap.when i posted in here t'other day i typed everything out underneath each other ( ISP/where i am etc) and it didn't separate them so the posting was all jumbled up.

The Quick Links and Thread Tools pull-down menus no longer are active so the bookmarked thread shortcuts are not accissible:(
