They had a glitch - see HERE.catford wrote:someone had a bad head day on the 12th!!I just printed my acc off to find a 6+min local call cost me £2-06.but the next entry took the same amount off. Friday the 13th was ok though! :eek:Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
They're - colloquial/abbreviated version of 'They are'

hi all I havent been on here for a while so maybe you all know whats happening .I use Talk Talk for free evening and weekend calls ,I received a call from BT to say they will also give me free evening and weekend calls if I return to them .Has anyone else been offered this ,0

Have't heard of that one. You need to ask them if they will also give you free calls to other BT users at all times, the way TalkTalk do :rotfl:0

BT dont offer free calls to other customers the way talk talk do and I think the free calls may be for only a year ( not sure on that part )the way talk talk was ,but free calls from BT is good ,to me that says they are loosing business and I think they have to much business to begin with .0

I am rather muddled - I am a Telewest user with a line rental. Calls are generally modest but do include some daytime and some calls to mobile phones. I have recently acquired a Onetel box to attach for the free weekend use, but have lacked the confidence to connect it up so far! Can I use this box and the 18866 and 1899 access codes or would I have to disconnect the onetel box mid week?
Would Telewest still be charging me their connection charges?
Would I be better off returning to BT?
Any help out there?0 -
Personally, I'd go back to BT (if you can get free reconnection) so all your options are open - 18866, 1899, OneTel as CPS and so on.TonyW wrote:I am rather muddled - I am a Telewest user with a line rental. That way, you could just pay BT £10.50/month line rental, go onto OneTel's (free) StandardUKTalk package and use them for free weekend calls to UK 01/02 numbers and free 118111 Directory Enquires, dial the 1280 prefix to hop back onto BT for 0845/0870 calls and join call18866.co.uk to get 2p per call weekday calls to UK 01/02 numbers.,Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Ensure what they mean by free evening & weekend doesn't include a monthly fee. Before we moved to OneTel, BT asked why we were moving and I told them because of OneTel's free evening & weekend calls and they said they did the same but when I double checked with them that it didn't include a monthly fee they said it did. After explaining that OneTel were doing an offer of free evening&weekend calls without a monthly fee for 12months he replied back that they (BT) couldn't do that so we moved to OneTel.ginger_nuts wrote:....I use Talk Talk for free evening and weekend calls ,I received a call from BT to say they will also give me free evening and weekend calls if I return to them .Has anyone else been offered this ,0 -
Or, to put it another way, BT lied in an attempt to retain your business.bbb_uk wrote:Before we moved to OneTel, BT asked why we were moving and I told them because of OneTel's free evening & weekend calls and they said they did the same but when I double checked with them that it didn't include a monthly fee they said it did.
No wonder the BBC managed to get them to admit on Working Lunch yesterday that, contrary to their, "Every month, 100,000 people are coming back to BT" advertising blurb, they are suffering a nett loss of 60,000 customers a month!Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Legally though they didn't. They offered free evening & weekend calls but just had a monthly fee. Both OneTel and TalkTalk are offering free evening & weekend calls now but also for a monthly fee.
It depends on how you look at it. I'd say free evening & weekend calls would be free if it didn't include a monthly fee. Telephone companies (like BT, TalkTalk, OneTel, etc) say free evening & weekend calls but with a monthly fee is still classed as free evening & weekend calls because you're not paying for the calls during the evening&weekend.
I believe it is more accurate to describe this as inclusive evening & weekend calls if there is a monthly fee involved. Eg, For a monthly fee of £4 you get inclusive evening & weekend calls to geographical landline numbers.0 -
FWIW, I get my Broadband service through Nildram (https://www.nildram.net) and they do something called HomeTalk. With that you pay £4.99 per month for unlimited local and national calls. You have to be a nildram subscriber, though.
Incidentally, they are excellent for Broadband service - very good value and excellent service.0
