Yes - call18866 is saying 30p per minute. I have emailed them for an explaination. Surely it must be a fault?0

It's now gone back to 0p per minute! Phew!! :T0

Today at 12 15am I called a friend and was charged 30p per minute(I checked my online bill) My friend called me back and he too was charged 30p per minute.
As we live less than one mile apart, what has gone wrong?
Back to normal now at zero p per minute.
I would advise anyone not to switch off the automatic tarrif message!!!0 -
Same thing happened here: 30 p per minute this morning, back to 0 p per minute now!A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist.

the helpless, the powerless, in a world of criminals who operate above the law.0 -
There is a thread here regarding last night/this morning's glitch with 18866.
Can you put any questions or answers regarding this problem on that thread.
This appears to have been fixed and all calls over charged will be adjusted.0 -
I am on a cheap deal through Toucan but have been using access numbers such as Telestunt and Telediscount for foreign calls
Suddenly today we find a voice on all the 0844 etc numbers saying 'Calls to this number from this phone are barred'
I phoned Toucan to ask what's going on and was told they had barred access because of a virus which was dialling up on people's internets giving them huge hundreds of pounds bills.
I said this was very convenient for Toucan to be able to bar you from using other phone companies. But she assured me this was truth.
She did however say the virus problem was now sorted but the call bars still stay - unless subscribers specifically ask for the bar to be removed.
I asked and she said I would be able to access the numbers again in three hours.
Whether or not there really was a virus I am unsure but I dont expect Toucan are too worried that now most of their customers can't access other phone deals unless they specifically ask to be unbarred.
How would they know they can escape the bar unless they read it here or threaten to quit Toucan as I did?
Comments anybody?0 -
Not exactly the most intelligent of lies, was it?Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
They're - colloquial/abbreviated version of 'They are'
There - noun (location other than here e.g. "You can buy groceries there") OR adverb (in or at that place e.g. "They have lived there for years") OR adverb (to or towards that place e.g. "Go there at noon") OR adverb (in that matter e.g. " I agree with you there").0 -
Giving that a lot of Doctors Surgeries are using 0844 numbers in lieu of 0870 .It might be worth pointing this out to Toucan!!!
But to avoid any more problems like this route all your NGN traffic via BT by putting 1280 in front of the number you are calling. Its cheaper in most cases as well.PF.0 -
Not very relevant I suppose, but I've heard an even stranger story. Access to my foreign mobile was blocked from T-com in Germany for a while, on the quoted grounds that such numbers were associated with 0190-Dialler abuse. The mobile phone operator is an mvno on a subsidiary of Austria Telecom. I think the main reason, as here, was commercial.April2 wrote:Not exactly the most intelligent of lies, was it?0 -
