    You could also look at Freezing bananas.

    We have an exisitng thread on using bananas, so I'll merge this thread to that one, to give you more ideas ;)

  • i have successfully started stewing fruit today, lol :j i have done bramley apple crumble. also i am stewing russet apples, pear and nectarine together, do you think this will taste ok,:confused: as i didnt want to bin them.
    also what can i do with a big bunch of bananas that need using, xxx

    Banana Muffins, Banoffee pie, Banana cake/ loaf, Caramelised Bananas, Banana sandwiches. I could go on......:rolleyes:

    Muffins freeze well too.

    Don't forget, you can freeze them too. If you just chuck them whole, in the skin still, in the freezer, you can eat them just like a lolly when they're frozen. Or defrost to use in something later.

    Next time I have some cheap ripe bananas I will be making banana flapjacks and probably banana smoothie.

  • I took my frozen bananas out the the freezer to defrost overnight in order to make banana cake today. I've done it many times before and it always works perfectly. I use Nigella's banana bread recipe with rum soaked sultanas - yum! :)
