Oh and take off the sunglasses, you look even sillier wearing them indoors.

Another one who feels this is a total and complete sellout. A sad day for all of us. There is no way this website will be able to continue in the same way.
Just goes to show - when it comes to money.........................

    Thought better of you Martin.

Hopefully, this move will allow the forum to cover some of its own costs.
If you isolate the forum then it probably doesn't generate significant monetary income (at least not in the grand scheme of the site income) - not enough (imo) to cover the server costs and support that a forum this size requires.

I just tried post on here only to be prevented because it said I was not logged in. I was logged in.
I lost the post because I had to log in again and I was stuck in a 'press your back button loop.'
I am suspicious. Are there too many angry people for ML and MSE to cope with? How many other posts are being lost?

Yet more first time posters complaining about the supposed loss of a forum community that they were never a part of and never ever contributed to.

    Oh the irony.

Looking at your join date and total posts you're not exactly prolific yourself. :p

But then again without the forum, this site would be junk!

Actually it translates to about a post every two days over 8 years. Compared to the "Joined yesterday to complain about the forum" brigade there's no comparison.
Please actually read what I wrote before trying to be clever.
  • Martin has done a tremendous job in making people aware of various financial pitfalls and has explained things that hopefully most people can understand.

I have, however, become less enthusiatic about this site recently and rarely visit the main parts, the forums are the principle focus of my interest, and the odd posting. I have cancelled the weekly newletter subscription and I imagine my enthusiasm for the site will diminish to the level of the other price comparison sites.
