Can't wait for Friday's pay day so I can begin my challenge. Came in under £100 last month and am wondering if I can do better this month. :j :j
Can't believe it was so easy to get my teenagers to eat pulses in all their bolognaise mixes and shepherds pies. And the eldest actually seemed pleased that it was healthy. 18 years I've been trying to get healthy food down that boy and NOW he decides to play ball. Kids! :rolleyes:AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Our budget for February is £230.
I first thought, we need to stock up meat etc, but DH isn't here for two weeks.
We have done our monthly meal plan. Actually, it is a lot better then the weekly one. Not always the same meals anymore! DH birthday cakes (also for work) are included.
I've put a Mr T order in, which comes to about £72 incl. delivery. That includes all the non perishable items.I wish Germany had a website like moneysavingexpert!0 -
Hi can I join? Trying to keep to £250 this month (25 Jan to 28 Feb) - food, cleaning stuff, washing powder and household bits all need to be included in that.
Have nothing in the freezer -except two lunch portions of pasta.
Have worked out OH's "diet" plan costs me £15 a week for lunches, so that's without counting his breakfast cereal, milk, apples or evening meals - let alone my food or the step-kids :rolleyes:working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Please count me in. I know i havent finished Jan yet but im learning as i go along. I think im doing well then something unexpected goes and throws all the numbers out!!
Feb spend planned at £250 please
I did want to reduce it but I think with the weekend away its better to keep trying but not discourage myself by setting up for failure ... i can feel my motivation slipping as it is.
This is for all grocery, toiletries and cleaning materials for myself, 26 year old DS and DP who spends approx part of the week with me.
Good luck everyone!!!0 -
Hi lil me, please count me in as I will officially start on Friday 1 Feb.
I will go for £70/2wks as that is how I work my shopping.
I can then adjust as necessary once I get into the second half of the month. My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.
Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman0
