Most of my kitchen electrical gadgets are of the frugal Cookworks variety and I have had no problems with them. They are basic, but functional. My slow cooker, although on the small side and with only the basic low/high/auto settings has been used for most things, although I don't recommend doing porrige or rice pudding overnight and then forgetting about itIt has no timer, you need to remember to switch it off, even on auto setting. I learned that the "eeeugh" way :rotfl:

So far only veggie mince and soups.
I keep meaning to try rice pudding.... but I only have sushi and brown rice in the house at the moment... so will get some pudding rice next month and try that.

I'm in again this month for £120 - fingers crossed!
My dd has a cookworks slowcooker and loves it, she makes a lot of bolgnaise sauces and chillis in hers. I have an old tower sc of my Mums and a morphy R large one for bulk cooking and make a lot of stews, casseroles, currys, chilli, soups, stock and baked apples which are lovely filled with hm mincemeat!
OldMacdonald - I am so impressed with all you do and would love to be brave and cook more with pulses - off to find some recipes! the soap mix sounds good too, I am using soapnuts for most of our washing now and only using up my stock of washing tablets for the really mucky stuff (dog walking clothes:rolleyes:)Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.
