Hi I would like to join in for Feb, which will be my second month in the challenge. I budgetted £150 for Jan and looking at coming in on budget so I will go for £130 for Feb (shortest month). This is for 2 adults, 2 kids and 2 cats, including all toiletries, cleaning products and nappies and breaks down as £105 for food and £25 for non-food. I always start on the first of the month and end on the last of the month, as DH gets paid weekly it makes no difference to us.
can you put me on the list for £130 please Lil_Me, thanks0 -
Can I join in please?
For ages now I have been battling with my budget. I put £250 aside, but it usually comes in around £400. I work from 23rd - 23rd, but this month I will work until the end of February and then start 1st - 30th/31st each month. Only 5 days in and have already spent £185.92 on food, but now have 3 freezers full of bread, milk, meat, veg, cakes, ice-cream etc and cupboards full also.
So can I please put down a budget of £250 for this month please, ending 29th February - thank you! When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:0 -

Ages ago on the January GC i saw the raisin pleat with icing and meant to copy down the recipe but i've been unable to find it since.

First time delurking for me. I'd like to join in this as our grocery spends get too much sometimes. We do a meal plan, which helps, but I'd like to cut things down more. Please put me down for £250 this month, from 28 Jan to 28 Feb for 3 adults, 2 toddlers, including food, household/cleaning, and nappies for 2. I'm hoping we can get it down to £200 next month, as I know we have quite a few unnecessary items purchased as impulse buys. But I don't want to cut back too drastically too soon.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0

We are in again for February please.
Lil Me please put us down for £325 for Feb - 3rd to 3rd
We are going to try something that was suggested on the January thread by someone but can't remember who sorry. We are going to put the grocery money into a pot and just spend from that rather than using the credit or debit cards. I think it will make us focus on what we are actually spending and will make me add up as I go round the shop! If I do an internet shop I can pay by card but take the cash from the pot and pay it back into the bank. Does that make sense?
The fridge, freezers and cupboards are desperately bare so I can't wait to go shopping next weekend! (with cash!)
Good luck everyoneMortgage Free in 3 part 2 challenge - pay off £9000
