Room for a wee one?
This is my 1st month with the challenge. We spent approx £230 in Jan and there's only me and OH. Some of this was house things like bowls and a doughnut maker :rotfl: Setting target for Feb at £160 for all food and household stuff. Wish me luck - gulp....Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
Can you count me again for February please.
I kind of stuck to it in January but not as accurately as I would have liked, think I still came in under budget though.
Aiming for weekly spend of £50Only one debt left - overdraft £80:A0 -
£11.30 went in tesco today, so that brings me overbudget already this week. Luckily I managed to swerve past the creamcake aisle so avoided further damage.
I really do have to sit down and figure out how I can make my shopping bill even cheaper. £200 a month is too much for two people i'm sure. £160 seems much more reasonable but I am struggling to make it, even with all the cutting back and batch cooking i'm doing.
Maybe we just eat too much.2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0 -
OK I'd like to be in this month please. I've been a daily shopper and never taken much notice of how much I've spent until lately. Been trying to keep track a bit better the last couple of months. I'm sure we used to spend around £100 or more each week quite easily. I think this month has been closer to £50 each week + £100 large shop yesterday. I will set this as my goal ie £300 (4 weeks @ £50 + £100) and see how we go.

Hi there, could i please be included in the Feb grocery challenge? First time for me, so I'd like to aim for £160 for three of us, me, OH and 19 month old.Feb 2008 Grocery Challenge £160, Spent £163.48
March 2008 Grocery Challenge £160 Spent £206.70

Hi I'd like to join in too!
I have no idea how much I spend on my shopping so this could be quite interesting.
It's just me and my bursary so I'll aim for £60 for the month, no idea if this is realistic or not. Only time will tell!Trying to remain debt free!
Sept GC £24.10/£200
Weekly spend £0/£50

ok. got a budget of £160 for the month (and i'm going away for one week so should be well easy compared with this month)
decided that doing it in weekly spends wasn't helping, and going to do a bulk shop (maybe costco even) at the weekend once the bidget goes live (we're still on jan). so anyway, have split the budget into chunks, and am going to try and save on each chunk, or at least get the most i can for each...
so far have come up with:
meat - £40
veggies - £30
rice/pasta/cereals - £5
wine - £16 (i know, i know)
tins/jars - £9
squash/tea etc - £5
bread - £10 (hopefully less, tho i never seem to find the offers you all do)
sweet stuff - £5
toiletries/cleaning - £20 (again should be less, but not checked what we have in yet).
thoughts?
seeing it like this it seems like loads, tho we did really struggle this month...Trying to be good, not always succeeding. :A:beer:0 -
Please put me down for £110 this month! As it's half term at the end of the month I can have a good sort, rummage and cook up then!
