Didn't know about this, but thanx for highlighting that for me, will ask next time. Maybe I should write to their head office and complain, maybe they'll do something about it because it's not the first time this has happened to me.
Cheers

Go to the Asda website, find the "contact" numbers, then ring customer services and tell them that you were refused your £2. They will take the name of the store and post you your £2 gift card.0 -

Hi Cranky40
Thanx for that suggestion, will be ringing them first thing in the morning. They take advantage of the fact that people don't know these things. Thanx so much.

asda also have a 200% own brand guarantee- if you try one of their products and don't like it or it is off etc they will either replace it and refund it or give you a double refund. this could be handy for anyone thinking about trying own brand or smartprice versions instead of the brand name products. married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090

Im in for £160 for February. Came in under budget Jan but had lots of meat from Christmas so may need to spend a bit more. With the savings I bought a dvd play for bedroom which we intended buying anyway. I still allow £200 per month and what I save goes on household items we need. :T0

Aaaah but, Jacks, how many new casserole dishes have you had to buy?????
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Casserole dishes??? Don't get me started!
I've had to get new pans as well, and new storage jars and tubs to store all this new fangled "cook from scratch" stuff in!
And I really really want a proper stone thing to cook pizza on. We used to have one years ago but - true to form for me - I dropped it!
It used to be that our fridge was crammed full but the cupboards were fairly bare and the shelves had a few ornamental bottles of olive oil and things that looked pretty in glass jars on them.
Now the fridge has just the basics (milk, yogurt, margarine, salad-y stuff and leftovers) and the shelves and cupboards are full of proper cooking staples like herbs and flour.
I've even talked to hubby about building a pantry under the stairs!
I've been OS-ed!

I sent them an email and didn't get a response, which is how I ended up on the phone....
I now also have a lovely letter from Head Office to wave under the nose of whoever is on our Customer Service desk when they say "we don't do the gift cards any more", although since my phone call, any overcharging has been met with an immediate offer of a gift card.

ok not sure if i will manage it but i am going to try and go for £200 for the 5 of us & animals.
Think i will be hard pushed what with half term and 5 at home 24/7 but going to give it a go as we are down on dosh and i have full cupboards and freezer with not too much to buy for so fingers crossed. Is £4 a day less than my now normal budget.
Have already got a lot of bargains for feb with a freezer full of reduced meats.Still TryingGrocery challenge July 2016

Hello
Am fairly new to the grocery challenge. Did it for January (I know a few days left but do not need anything) and came in £38 odd under budget.
£150 for me please this month.
Thanks.Mortgage FreeSave £5,000 in 2020[CENTER:j0
