I have spent £5.99 on toilet roll from wilkinsons, £40 in asda.It wasn't quite £40 but my change had £2 coins in so they went into my jar and the other change went into my sealed pot so I'm going to count it as £40 spent
That made me laugh!!! I do the same :rotfl:

Bebee - could you please post the recipe for the Iced Buns, Scones and the rolls (as well as the method for making them all). I have just started making bread (by hand) and would like to try making scones, rolls and buns but not sure how different it is from bread. I was going to try making the rolls and using the exact same recipe and method as the bread but instead of making a loaf shape roll out some "ball" shapes but didnt think this would work!?!?

My bin also sees a lot more of the fruit & veg than we did. I didnt think about the shed for storage (am thinking mainly potatoes as I cant seem to make mine last longer than a week). Thanks for the tip!

Tomorrow I'll be going to Tesco for the first time since last Saturday. Have done quite well with the shopping this week but am trying t be ruthless and cut right back this month as am skint!
Am aiming to spend less than £10 just on some fruit and veg, bread and essentials (mainly dog food).
I get paid on Friday next week (thankfully!) when things will be easier!

Will update my running total when I know the damage!

    Hi all

Many thanks to all for the helpful tips - especially the yoghurt-making tip - will try that today as a sachet of Easiyo Greek was £2.18. Had a bit of a spend yesterday:

    Julian Graves dried fruit:apricots/prunes/mixed fruit + easiyo = £12.75
    Mr Tescos: £31.57 **
    Iceland: £4

** Couple of bargains to be had at Mr. T's which might be universal - Anyhow 2lt of s/s The One milk Robert Wiseman 1% fat (with the purple label) is only £1 & for those of you who use strong wholemeal bread flour in their BMs, 1.5 kg bags of Doves Farm strong wholemeal organic wholegrain vegan bread flour only 60p!! I only got 3 bags, should have got more methinks...BTW what do they do if they don't have the item in stock - do they give a voucher or something?

Will post recipe for Moroccan Chicken, Squash & chickpea stew next..

  • My shop day today ..although yesterday I had to get some bits for ds birthday tea so picked up a few extras in Tesco (only things I knew I would otherwise need today but are a better deal in Tesco) like the value nanas and the kids apples and some of their favourite yogurts, so will update sig for that spend...

Have just done my mealplan for next week and I have enough in for meals for the whole week so I am only going to buy nappies and bits like bread and milk today so will hopefully be a really low spend in Morrisons (unless they have any mega bargains in their clearance area which is rare)

One thing I do have trouble with is that we like to have either a takeaway or a nice meal on a Saturday, can't afford a takeaway this week (dh already on leftover dominos from yesterdays tea party) so I have some frying steak in the freezer and thought I would maybe do beef strogonoff...does anyone have a recipe for this?

Good luck to all for the weekend, this is the time I find the hardest to keep a rein on the spending

Ok no more shopping untill Friday which is the start of week 2.Spent a total of £58.37 this week which leaves me £141.63 for rest of month!

Now at end of week 2-spent £55.60 last week so now have £86.03 to last the rest of the month-off to update signature now!
  • Well i'm really impressed by my little over £7 spend in 7 days:T

I've found myself in a position where i will have NO money coming in this week and have got £2.80 in my purse. So thats all i have to feed 2 adults on next week (unless i can beg/borrow/steal from parents)

I think, if i'm really good, i could come in this month well under budget.:D

This is turning out to be more fun that i ever thought it would be, and i'm really proud of myself
