I was merging two threads about meatballs...
Ticked their little boxes (we Board Guides have special bits here and there
) and clicked on the merge button.
Only to find that even though my little count thingy "merge 2 threads" said TWO it decided to add a third... the Grocery Challenge all by itself!
AAAAaarrrrgggghhhh!
Anyway - it's all sorted now. think I got a bit of a bargain today. I was walking past the butchers near my work, and they had a deal on turkey joints of meat. £2.99 each. Decided to go in and but one and the lady asked did I want a bigger one or smaller one,as they were the same price!! Doh! I asked for the bigger one. Cut it in to 2 when I got home and will get at least one decent meal for 4 of us plus sandwiches for a couple of days, so pleased with that. Needed to buy a joint of some sort for my menu plan, so I feel I have saved around £6 there!
Also had to buy some milk tonight. Have updated signature. Although still dubious as to whether we will make it this month, I do feel more positive than I did at the start of the week, as we still have a fridge full of food;)0 -
First proper shop of the month at Mr T today and also first outing for my new Capital One 4% cashback card!! :money:
Did buy some crisps that weren't on my list
But they were half price and I couldn't help myself!
Had half a savoy cabbage lurking so made it into some soup for tea with bacon and borlotti beans. YUM!
I'm getting much better at not chucking stuff away. Have found the recipe section on Waitrose website very helpful for using up odds and ends!

On a positive note...got a bargain at Sainsbury's yesterday...all their baby wipes/toiletries are half price - got 2 x 4 pks of Johnsons wipes for £5!!!!! These should easily last rest of Feb & into March!!!!
Will keep plugging away though......I HATE 5 week months though!!!:mad:20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100
