On the pancake question - yes I am but I can't cook and every time I've tried to dmake pancakes I almost kill someone as it all goes wrong!
Last year I discovered Aunt Bessie's pancakes - incredibly lazy I know - and have bought them again this year - not as bad as it sounds they're on offer for 76p at Tescos!

    Happy microwaving!!

I've just run a pancake race in Worcester High Street and I'm shattered! We're into the next round though! :j
  • I usually buy a 500g (could be 450g though) pack of organic mince from Morrison's for £1.99. So that's roughly double what you paid. Well done on getting so many meals out of so little meat. I have to use 2kg to get what you have produced. I do the same spag bol and chilli and batch freeze like you. Maybe I should start looking at portion size :o .

Hi, thanks for your reply, what I do with the mince is bulk it out with loads of lentils, grated carrots/courgette, tinned tomatoes and whatever veg I've got spare gets chopped up small and bunged in as well. It works out so much cheaper and a lot healthier for us and our little one. I would happily eat it without the meat but OH is a meat lover and this is the compromise!

Well had to go to the shops again today to get cereal, semi skimmed milk, and raisins for LO. Spent £3.29, so, my total is now up to £21.98.
Will I ever get a day when I dont need to go to the shops:confused: .

Curly cabbage: Great news on your hubbies job, there is nothing worse than having someone at work that makes your life hell. I put up with it for years, and when she left, it was one of the best days of my life.

Cheerfullness4: I wrote down D&DD's apple plait recipe, and i end up getting confused, cos I get all mixed up when you need to cut into the pastry (im a bit dolly dimple lol). Did you find it easy?

Chickenpie: I had vegetable chilli for tea last night and I thought it was delicious, even better than meat chilli. I just had mine with tortillas, and a little grated cheese on top.

Keep up the good work everyone.

Hi Jackie, I also made a veggie chilli yesterday, with lentils and beans, it was really tasty. I put mine on a jacket potato for lunch.

    Afternoon everyone

Went for another walk this morning -picking up some "whoopsies" along the way ;)

    2 x WW veggie fresh pizza @ €1
1kilo of fresh turkey steaks for €4.70 -have split them into 8 big steaks for stir fry etc
and then my yeast, a bottle of hoisin sauce (doing crispy duck and HM pancakes at the weekend -much cheaper than a take away :D
fresh ginger and garlic, a bag of frozen peas and some paprikka speck - a bit like a piece of bacon before being sliced -but this one is marinated...never had it before, but thought it would be nice in pasta dishes

have managed to squeeze everything into the freezers ...good job i sorted it out yesterday... just need to work out some meal plans again;)

For dinner tonight I have turned a pack of the whoopsed minced turkey into meatballs, that im going to do with lots of roast onions and peppers and then put into HM tortilla wraps, with a splodge of sour cream and serve with salad..if they taste nice - i will post the recipe...its another "make it up as i go along job";)
right -off to update my signature

keep up the good work everyone :D
