Right Update Time.....
My first shop of the month came today (Tescos) and I spent - £57.91, I really need to cut this down a bit as I then stopped at the shops on the way home from the school run, and spent £7.89 so not very impressed with myself really.
Although I did buy a few treats as the last week we have really had to cut back.
Must give myself a kick up the bum to only buy what's needed!!

Whilst I was going round Lidl I wrote down a few prices of things that we usually use so I can check them against the price of Mr S, T & A for future reference.
This is a great idea, I have a little book and made an 'A-Z' out of it to list goods and then put prices in. It takes time to do but is worth it as once you come up against a price drop in a shop, you look at your little book and check that it really is good value (use price per kg/litre etc)
I got the idea from 'The Tightwad Gazette'.Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000
Save £12k in 2013 no.34 £11,800/£12,000
'How much can you save' thread = £7,050
Total=£29,100
Mfi3 no. 88: Balance Jan '06 = £63,000.
Balance 23.11.09 = £nil.0 -
I am not on the list yet either - can I please be added? LIL-ME £250 for the month for 2 adults (1 of which has pregnancy cravings lol) and 1 toddler.
I had my shopping delivered today from Mr A and I spent £45.62. I am off to do my monthly meat shop on Thursday so will have to split that between the weeks depending on what I am having and when.
Thank you to those who have added recipes or ideas that I hadnt thought of, its been very helpful.2 adults and 3 children DD (14), DD (12) & DS (10) :smileyhea and 2 mental beagles.

Hiya, I notice one ore two new people have posted about not being on lil-me's list.
I just thought that it might be that she hasn't picked you up because you haven't highlighted your info for her. Or maybe you put it into the January thread? Lil-me has asked that we put our target in on the thread for the relevant month (ie Feb's target in February thread)
She has also asked us to hightlight it in RED so that she can easily spot it when scanning through the posts.
Hope this helps some of you. (I hope nobody thinks I'm being a busy body- I'm just trying to help)
cheers

Back from my first Mr T shop of the month. Had my DS2 in tow so was trying to hurry up - minimises the time available for him to think of things to put in the trolley:rotfl: .
No too bad really, £20.72 but this is mainly fresh stuff milk/ F&V and that includes a few treats and soap powder for the month. There's enough food in for the week - maybe need bread on Thursday (my lot were ill for a week or so at the beginning of Jan, and didn't eat much for about 10 days so I have some meat/fish in the freezer). I took advantage of T's 75% off vouchers to get pizza - yeah, yeah, I know Hm is cheaper and not much hassle, but THEY think it's a treat to have shop bought pizza, and it's good to have a night off cooking.
Right it seems like a good start to my month, lets see if I can keep it up:j

Well, I've finished shopping until Wednesday now - spent another £5.90 in the Co-op this afternoon on 8 pints of milk, and a great pile of reduced eggs, butter and cheese (will last a couple of weeks at least - the butter and eggs are still well-dated).
Could I go on the list please - My target for this month is £160 - Thank you :ADFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -
Thanks Bobbykins for pointing out we should post our targets in RED - mine is £100 please Lil-me although I don't see me managing it!
Went to CostCo at the weekend with OH and managed to spend a staggering £70 just on me - any tips for how to avoid being tempted to stock up with enough food to feed a family of 4 for a month? OH really wanted to get big cheeses and split them (we don't live together) - don't want to hurt his feelings - but my freezer is bursting at the seams!Feb GC - £100 / ~£800 -
