I know it's a little late to start posting, but with a busy weekend I didn't have time to get to the PC.
I would like to join in this month with a budget of £200. That's for 2 adults a teenager and a hungry 11 yo. Luckily I have a lot of staples in, so it should be doable.
Have already spent £3.18, but this will rise as I am off to Mr T's soon.

Completely lost track.
OH got an unexpected bonus in pay packet so there was a collective sigh of relief, untightening of belts, and buying spree of a few things we had been going without but had really wanted for a good few months. Got a printer/scanner in the sales and some laptop speakers that don't squeel, so we can actually listen to our music now. Not gone mad, but it has been nice to just get a couple of things, especially as we only spent a fiver on each other at christmas.
Grocery shopping-wise I have stocked up on a lot of store cupboard things like dried beans and pulses, and things i have seen for recipes but not had the cash to justify getting (dried porcini mushrooms and saffron and other spices etc). I think I have spent easy £100 on bits and bobs in the supermarket, amazing how it runs away with you when you are not totting everything up.
I feel I've got that out of my system now and have nice full cupboards, so back to the value items and yellow stickers for me!2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0 -
Afternoon all
Well, I had a no-spend weekend, so that was good.
Had to pick up bread and fillings this morning otherwise there would have been no lunch. Came across a few reduced bargains too (that were on the list this week anyway), so have spent £7.85 so far today.
I've got to get milk today, and I may need juice later in the week, but that's all of any significance. I'm waiting until later on for the milk though as my local Co-op do all their chill reductions in the afternoon (just in time for the school-run - perfect timing, lol).
Total spend so far £16.82, £153.18 left.
I'm feeling quite good about this month so farDFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -

I dont think I would go back either mrsdoyle.
There doesnt seem to be alot of common sense or discretion from the leader type person IMHO.0 -
Well I has to buy milk today for Lo's, so that cost me £1.15.
My total is now up to £18.69. Hopefully I wont need to spend anything more for a couple of days.
Iwas thinking of making the kids savoury pancakes for tea tonight. I was thinking cheese & bacon for the filling.
Do I just make the pancakes as normal, and make a cheese sauce with bacon in it. Ive never made these before, so, if anyone has any other ideas for them, please let me know.
When I read other peoples menu plans, I suddenly realised that I really dont budget very well, and TBH I actually feel quite ashamed. ive had my own house for 18 years, and you would think I would have at least been able to budget at some time, but, I havent.
I have just got my DH round to thinking that having soup and crust bread and/or sandwiches for dinner is acceptable. If I was to make him beans on toast or baked potato with bean or cheese he would hit the roof. Now I think they are perfectly reasonable and filling for a dinner, but, he doesnt. Even a salad or chips egg and beans he would be annoyed at.
I just wish he wasnt such a big eater, I bet we could save loads of money on our grocery bill, and to top it all hes a skinny so and so. He comes home from work, has dinner, then eats a packet of biscuits, and later on at night he goes looking for something else to eat. WHERE DOES HE PUT IT ALL.
Anyway, enough of my ramblings, Im just having a down day today.

Spend just over £33 at Asda the other day and was a bit annoyed with myself because I didn't seem to buy anything substantial, it was all bits and bats. Not going to the supermarket until tomorrow and having tea at Mum's on Wednesday. Also going on a course Thurs and Fri which has lunch provided so no need to buy sandwich fillers for them two days.I :heart2: saving money0

Hi there,
when I make savoury pancakes I do them as normal and then make a filling such as ham/cheese/broccoli, anything really. Then roll the filling up in the pancake and put them in rows in a pyrex dish, pur cheese sauce over and bake in oven. They are very nice and filling. I was stuffed last time I ate them!Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000

Hi there Mrsdoyle1981, I know you had a bum rap at the slimming world (I read your story and the leader is well out of order) but I reckon its done you a favour as these clubs can be a right ripoff.
Have you checked out the slimming posts on here? I reckon by even doing the grocery challenge you are eating more healthy anyway as it doesn't give much scope for buying processed, expensive foods. I lost weight by cutting out a lot of fat and using cooking methods such as grilling and steaming (even the trusty old sc is healthy as it tastes delicious without fat).Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000
