Thinking about it tonight I thought that it was a bit expensive as Golden Syrup was 2 for £1 and Coffee half price. Had a look on receipt and been charged full-price for Coffee:eek:! I would be grateful if anyone would let me know Tesco's policy on this? I'm going to go and complain tomorrow but makes me wonder how many other times I've been over-charged and not noticed.
Going to catch up on the other posts. Hope you're all having a good week.

Hi Snowball
tesco used to give you a full refund and let you keep the goods (it was called refund and retain) but I think they have stopped this now. Their new policy is "double the difference" so they give you back double the amount overcharged......so if they overcharged you by £0.50, they should give you £1.00 back.
HTH
(oh, actually, just figured out that if the coffee was supposed to be half price, then "double the difference" would work out as a full refund anyway, DOH***)0 -

Talking of making own bread, I have just started doing this and I do it by hand without a bread maker. I dont know how to do anything fancy yet just half white and half brown loaf and rolls and pizza bases. I know it takes ages to rise but if you dont have too much free time you could do it of an evening and leave it in the fridge over night then cook the next morning (this is not something i have tried myself but is in my recipe book). Might save you some money on a bread maker that way.2 adults and 3 children DD (14), DD (12) & DS (10) :smileyhea and 2 mental beagles.
Paying off debt bit by bit0 -
Went to asda today and only spent just over £20 and got loads, decided to try the 8p per pack noodles as DD1 loves noodles and there are just enough in a pack for one. See what they are like. Stopped off at Aldi too as their fruit is cheap and got pears (39p for a pack), apples and bananas, only spent £4.
I've done some baking this afternoon too, did flapjacks and 4 dozen buns (2 doz choc and 2 doz raisin) they are going down fast though!!!
BTW, my mate rang me today to let me know she claimed her meaf back afetr I told her about it and got a cheque for £175!!! Dead chuffed for her!Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000

just read you post about bread mummygems and wonder if you've tried putting fillings in the dough? I chop up halloumi cheese and fresh coriander onto rolled out dough, wrap it up, leave it to rise, bake. Makes a nice change from sarnies and dead easy to pack up.Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000

Would love to join in too.
Have been a member of this site for a while now and, to be honest need to sort myself out in more ways than one.
Not really sure where to start if I'm honest and have no idea what would be a realistic weekly/monthly budget to be going on with. Re advice will check on my spend from January but do know I need to be as thrifty and frugal as poss.
My cupboards are bulging I have to say so am sure there's savings to be made by using up what's there already.
Have just adopted 2 children of 3 and 4 so that's a challenge in itself but has been a delight so far and a long time coming. Think I'll be needing plenty of advice along the way.
Will stick my neck out and say £ 80 a week this time as a guess. This is to feed me, 2 kids and OH and Frank the dog.
Will keep you posted. XJuly £10 a day challenge £ 20.05 / £ 1550
