Hey Gang:p
The offspring are paid on 25th of each month, so Feb Challenge started a wee bit earlier for us. It's also a long week, cuz I find it easier to update around a Tues, but I'll do that next time:D
Still looking for this famous hobnob recipe...can you point me in the right direction please, cuz I get lost turning the corner in my own lounge:laugh:
Think I'm gunna look a bit closer at a BM, butwhere it would stand on my very limited worktop---perhaps I'll get one of those two-tier fruit baskets too:rolleyes: Used to have one that hung from the ceiling, but because we live in a cardboard house, put anything more than 3 grapes & a blueberry in it & down it came:mad:
I'm off today, so taking me muvva to a little discount store in the next village to stock up on tea-bags, loo rolls etc & then to MrT to see what "bargains":whistle:he has this week. I do so envy you lot with your farm shops & local markets; our nearest one charges £7:99 a kilo for pig's liver & the cheapest sack of spuds was £8 christmas week!
Good Luck everyone, & keep those recipes coming!Feb Grocery Challenge: £350 for four adults, iguana & pup.Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

I take a calculator with me when I shop so that i know exactly how much I've spent, so if prices have increased or if there is anything in the discount section I know how much I can spend on that.
I only take cash so have to be careful not to go over.
That's exactly what I do mama67 - but it's amazing the amused looks I get from other customers. Why?Maybe they have no concerns with what they spend or maybe they just want to bury their heads. I'm not the one that walks away frowning at my receipt and giving my OH stunned looks as I leave the shop.

Just a quick one to say good luck to everyone who's month starts tomorrow (like me!).
Am skint this month - just had bedroom redecorated and new furniture - so will be trying to eat out the cupborads and freezer until pay day on the 15th (another 2 weeks:rolleyes: ) with minimum spends on fresh stuff.
Am going to aim to spend just a fiver this week to supplement what I already have.... wish me luck0 -

Hi,
I was in for the January GC however, I lost my notepad in which I wrote down all my monthly shopping costs, but, I know, I was way over target.
Im going to again go for £200 this month. Although that was my target for January, and I went over its because I was too bl@@dy lazy & kept just buying things at the supermarket rather than taking stuff out the freezer.
So, Im geared up for this month.

I'd better join in again this month. OH is out of work again! He's just been paid off for the last job he did but they've sent him a cheque which will take 10 days to clear
I would like to come in under £200 this month, preferably round the £170 mark.
Off to Asda tonight for a big shop, I've done a menuplan and got my list........0 -
I'm not normally on this site during the day but as it's my day off and its blowing a gale outside I thought I would search the internet for a printable supermarket shopping list. I can only find ones for American style shopping and really would like an aisle by aisle list of everything I might need to buy in the UK. That way I can work out in advance what I need without missing anything and decide whether to go to the butcher, greengrocer, Lidl/Aldi, Makro etc and what I am going to get where. If I can't find one I will have to devise my own list using the online shopping sites as a guide so I don't miss anything off it but I think it's going to take a lot of time. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried mysupermarket.com?
You get 4 shops to choose from Tesco, sainsburys, asda and ocado... when you pick your supermarket, you can go through all produce aisle by aisle. As you are shopping a total appears at the top of the page and it compares it to the other 3 supermarkets.
When you have finished you can either send the list to the supermarket for them to deliver or you can print off list and take it with you when you go shopping. It does give you items printed aisle by aisle and all the costings. Also shows you whats on offer etc.
hope this makes sense..
I have got ironing to do aswell been putting it off but i suppose i will have to make the effort.'Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle'0
