Could I please join in for March, I'm new to MSE and think this challenge is a great idea. It will certainly make me think before buying things.
My target for March will be £100 for myself and my 9 year old son plus the animals. I know it's a small budget but I do have quite a bit of food in the freezer/pantry so I don't think it's unrealistic.
Good luck everyoneI won't buy it if I can make or borrow it instead

Ok all done for Feb now, March starts tomorrow
My target was £200 and i totalled £187 on groceries. I decided to use the extra £13 to buy some baby vests, sleepsuits and bibs at Asda
i'm amazed that i've stuck to it tbh, March is going to be tougher i think because i've been using up freezer stuff and toiletries this month which will have to be re-stocked now.
Can you put me down for £200 again for March please? Hoping to get it down to £180 for April's challenge.
Well done everyone!

Ok, well , I've been searching for a March thread, but can't find it and as everyone is putting targets in here, then so will I.
Could I please join for March at £375 for 2 adults, 4 children and 1 crazy flatcoat...

 Hiya ladies, and the lovely Mike,
I've lost the plot so much I can't even remember what my target was.
We've had a bit of a rotten month, My dad was told to give up his tiny little part time job or lose his Incapacity Benefit - and he can't lose that because it helps pay for the whopping great loan they had to take out to pay for his double hip replacement.
Then my Mum was told she no longer had a job, probably because she's been off so much with my dad being ill.
Then both of my grandmothers sadly passed away this weekend just gone. One after a lengthy stay in hospital, and one on the operating table after being rushed to hospital when she collapsed.
So with all that going on, I've gone off the boil somewhat.
As for the future prospects of your parents, things may look a little bleak for them at the moment, but you never know, something may turn up. Try and keep cheerful and I wish you and they all the luck that you all need.0 -
