March thread hasn't been posted yet. I was asked not to post the threads as the BGs do this by a certain date each month the last time I posted it so haven't done so this time. Sure it'll be up soon and when it is it'll be pinned instead of this one (well it usually is) I don't think I have ever seen it posted after the 27th so possibly be up soon.

Just popped in to update the Feb spending totals so far, well done everyone.

Jackxx big hugs honey, what a month! Thinking of you all x
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb
  • I've had a NS week since my last shop on Friday, so my final for Feb is £236.23, £36.23 over my budget :(. I'm not shopping until my March start on Sat. My freezer is full so I am menu planning for the week ahead and trying to incorporate as many potato dishes I can as I have half a sack of them beginning to sprout.

This challenge has got me not wanting to throw anything away and I've come up with more inventive things than I would normally cook thanks to these boards :T .

Good luck to everyone for March

Hi everyone. Just caught up on a few days posts.

Jacks - we were sorry to hear your terrible news. Sending our thoughts from Devon.

Well we have come under target this month by £15 :j but the cupboards and fridge are really bare. My freezer in the garage is completely empty and I've defrosted it so that I can clean it before restocking in the next couple days.

I was planning to shop at Lidl tomorrow to get as much as possible before using a load of vouchers at Tesco on the weekend. But DD is unwell and probably won't be at school tom so I'll probably have to delay my shopping! Things will really get interesting when I try to make packed lunches tom evening if I don't manage to get to the shops as there is hardly a thing to eat in the house!

Planning to withdraw the cash for the months shopping and keep a running total. It really helped me come under target this month as well as the detailed menu planning and batch cooking.

Good luck to everyone for March. See you all on the new thread.

I agree. We have just had banana and pear crumble - delicious! No need to add sugar to the fruit either, can't be bad!

  • My bread flopped tonight and it's all Martins fault  ! I gave it a second knead and put it in the tins (3 of them!) and left it for 20mins. I sat down to watch it pays to watch and found the bread 30mins later, and I still needed to heat the oven up:eek: . The result was it rose too much before it went in the oven and collapsed a bit afterwards:angry: .
DH has said his bread not being up to standard could be grounds for divorce:rotfl: . I can just see it, "on what grounds are you divorceing her?" "She is addicted to saving money":rotfl: . "Her addiction even makes the bread flop":rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
