  • Hi Lil Me, could you please put me down for £283.02 spent in Feb, that's only £33.02 over my target - compared to last years spends for Jan and Feb I have 'saved' more than £300 on groceries this year.

Target for March £250, I've already spent £150.07 in Mr T's, but will now bolt the front door so that we have to hibernate until April and can't buy any more food (oh, I wish!!!)

  • Just a quickie to ask whether the March challenge is "live" yet?
I'm not sure whether I've missed something?
    Thanks
    Rachel.

I'm going to try for £300 a month again, though hopefully I should do it this time. I've got loads in. Tonight I'm making minestrone soup (double quantities so I can freeze half for another day ;)) and having it with ciabatta.

Jacks - just caught up with this thread, big hugs and take care.

Failed miserably on the grocery challenge this month. I don't think I'll be needing anything else until next week but I have overspent by a whopping £165.74  and I don't have a great deal to show for it. It's depressing.

Please put me down for a more realistic £150 for next month. The freezer is still reasonably full and it would be good to eventually get to the bottom of it so I can defrost it. I have in mind this year to freeze anything I can find for free, apples from the garden, blackberries, elderflowers plus stuff I'm going to grow - it's a glorous day I'm looking forward to Spring.
January food 175.00 spent 181.60 oops nothing left. £4000 challenge/3384.49 left
    heating oil £396.69,

  • Jacks so sorry to hear your sad news.
Feb ends today for me. Total spend of £150.44.
I am planning on £150 for March but am trying to get this down to about £100. We have taken on an allotment so summer should see a reduction in spend on veggies and salad stuff. Best of luck to everyone.
  • Just catching up on the thread (limited computer time this month) but wanted to send big hugs to Jacks xxx Hope you're taking care of yourself as well.
