hiya, as a seperated mum of two toddlers aged 3 in coming june and two in coming aug, somedays are a nightmare, i can be tearing my hair out! i would really suggest changing your routine... say if you stay in alot, just go out, a park, a walk, even just round the block a few times! if its raining, put wellies on them and take them in the garden to find some puddles. I know sometimes its easier said then done, adn days you just want to curl up and cry, BUT you need time out as well,as a previous poster has said, leave them safe, and go have a hot shower, a cup of coffee/tea just time to calm down x
I am also 23 nearly 24 wks pregnant and I am so tired some times, but i love them, and know they love me and i am doing my best for them we all find things hard at times x hugs xsus x0 -
All great ideas! Thanks for replyng everyone, don't even mind the harsh ones!
have discovered jigsaws! I know it's obvious but when things have been getting a bit rough and tumble and I say "let's do a jigsaw", it quietens things down for a minute.
trying to work out lots of outdoor activities over the Easter hols that don't cost too much, and have cashed in some Tesco vouchers for days out at bowling etc. May venture out today as sun is appearing!Sept. grocery challenge = £500 (221.60 so far!;))0 -
Mine always liked to get the mop out so rather than battle with it I let them mop the floors - in their own fashion!! But it kept them busy.
My second had a scissor phase so I used to send him outside to cut the grass and fill a bucket up for me. He absolutely loved it - I know scissors are not supposed to be for them but.....
When they did attack drawers, I let them get on with it telling them yes how right they were, they do need cleaning so once they had cleaned them(made a mess!!) I told them I did not think they could get it all back in again as there looked too much for the drawer- so just to prove me wrong, they got it all back again!!!!!!
Play dough was always a good one with mine.
Summer is easier as they can get out - mud pies - I remember them!!!
It is hard but try and keep that smile going - they don't always mean to do wrong. And I suppose it does help if you can see the funny side of things they do do or the reasons why they are doing whatever they do.0 -

Buy several similar jigsaws and then when the kids get a bit too old for them, you can mix all of the pieces together and they can do several jigsaws at once. I used to find this a real treat when i was a kid!:j Baby bonce was born on Christmas morning after a ridiculously short labour and no pain relief! If only losing the baby weight was as easy!:T0 -
