That's a pleasure
I'm quite glad that you don't want any of the colours as I would hate to be responsible for denting your great run of not buying anything
The Beetlejuice set is great valueI love the green in the bottle but I don't think I could get away with wearing it. The purple one that I chose will be easiest against my skintone (I hope
) but they were all fascinating colours. I think my next PYON will be with the Beetlejuice purple :j
I wouldn't wear the green Beetlejuice colour either but can't help admiring it. I've only ever owned one green lacquer and I swapped that. It was OPI Here today Aragon tomorrow. Looked lovely under artificial light but was hideous colour in day light.Hi All,
Been MIA for a few days - work being a nightmare would be a fair summary of why! So just speed read a few few pages.
VALM I love Dexter too although OH thinks its weird?! What does he know! :rotfl: The finale was a brilliant cliffhanger, although I can't imagine he's going to react the way Debs wants him to, although that's probably all gone out of the window now with what she saw. V exciting! Congrats on the no spend month - I've only had one bought IN in June, its a good feeling. Especially as I wandered onto another thread before and was reading about people really struggling to pay massive debts off, just makes you keep yourself a bit in check really if nothing else.
I felt really sorry for Deb in the last season and it got me quite annoyed that Dexter could not let her catch DDK especially when her job/career could have been on the line. I wonder if he will ever tell her about their father's involvement re: the code. Am so glad that Quinn is not leaving as well. I've read that Louis will still be around for Season 7.
I am a bit bored of the no spending to be honest but I can't justify spending anything on toiletries at the mo with the exception of a bottle of hair conditioner as the bottle on the go is feeling very light and I don't have any more stashed. Have to remind myself that I overspent last month hence the frugal month this month. If I don't remind myself MrM certainly will.
We won't be going to Cheshire Oaks this Sunday anyway. The main reason for going is to try and exchange Emma's Ice Watch and we will need her with us in case we have to get something different. Emma is at a festival at Blackpool on Sunday watching McFly and The Wanted. I think we are going to The Trafford Centre instead - I've seen some shoes on the Debenhams website that I'd like to look for.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Berber Oil Hair Treatment, 10ml - WBA, gutted this is now finished!
Toner for Combination Skin - WNBA as i don't know what brand it was...it would have lasted longer if i hadn't dropped the bottle and most of it hadn't gone down the sink lol. Really nice toner!
IN
Origins Skin Rejuvinating Treatment Lotion, 150ml - mum didn't like it so i got it

UU:
Percy & Reed conditioner (Glamour freebie) - WNBA. Made hair super soft but price way too high. I also had to just use it on the tips as it made my scalp itchy.
Penhaligon's Lavandula soap - WBA love. No need to buy again as have another in the stash. I use it on my face as lavender oil is an anti-inflammatory. Think after this I'd like to try the Lush coal face soap, has anyone tried this before?
L'occitane Angelica toner (Glamour freebie again!) WBA if money was no object but I don't feel toner is something to spend lots of money on, it's only a splash after all. Hence why I'm on to the Boots Cucumber toner now - bargin!
INS:
I've used up 3 lippies this month:eek: so I used the opportunity to pick up 2 lip tars by Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. So chuffed with them. They look like a gloss but you apply a tiny dot with a lip brush and it comes out the texture of a long lasting stick/stain. Highly pigmented, fabulously shocking colours, and survived eating a bowl of ramen (a true test of longevity :rotfl:). I got colours Grandma (orangey coral) and Hoochie (hot violet purple). I want more!!! Look into these if you get the chance.
Resisted all the department store sales pull otherwise phew!
Oh and another IN - I had to run out and buy the Models Own Ibiza mix polish Willowbee, I love it! It's currently layered over my lilac nails and I feel like a barbie princess!0 -
I still get spots as well! Horrid things (normally hormonal as well)
I used to use the Clinique spot gel, which I found very effective. However, I've now changed to using Arnica Gel, which is brilliant. It's anti-inflammatory and is much more gentle (it doesn't dry out the surrounding skin). The exact one that I have is A. Vogel Atrogel Arnica Gel. I got 100ml for around £8, so it's loads cheaper than any other treatment. It also comes in a 50ml tube. (I found mine on eBay) It works quickly on almost all spots that pop up but it's struggling against a biggy under my jaw at the moment (eeeeewwww!) Not sure anything would shift that quickly though...
Just managed to get a 50ml tube off Ebay for £2.50 plus postage as it has a short expiry date so we'll see if it works! If not, next step is the Origins one but that's a fair bit more expensive. And this thread is supposed to be saving me money...

Oh and neither INs or UUs but a hot tip.
I like Calm One, Calm All bubble bath by Soap and Glory but don't think it's anything special. But I've just cracked open a Radox spa bubble bath in fig and neroli that smells absolutely heavenly and slightly similar. It's half the price too. Lovely orangey smell with a green floral undertone. Its probably the nicest one I've had in ages, and so cheap! I'm thoroughly converted to Radox.
Also been finding that since I've used up all my face masks but don't really want to buy more, I slather on a layer of Nivea Creme (the classic in the blue tub) and leave it for 15 mins. I then wipe off with a cloth. My skin feels lovely, highly moisturised and looks glowy, and its not oily like I thought it would be. Such a versatile cream, it's always nice to find another use for it.
So yes, two bargin tips for you! :rotfl: no, not on commission!0 -
Bought/used up a few bits of cosmetics for my holiday:
Uus: Bodyshop shea butter
Aqueous
Rosewater
Bodyshop shea butter scrub: WIBA? Yes, smells nice and leaves my skin feeling very smooth.
Garnier clear skin suncreen spray: WIBA? No, even though this is great for black skin as it does not leave white marks, it contains alcohol which is quite drying on the skin and stings if you use it on freshly shaved legs and you can't use it on your face.
Banana boat sunscreen lotion: WIBA? Perhaps, good budget sunscreen but is quite thick on the face.0 -
I am 34 and I am still troubled with spots to. Right now I am having I bad outbreak on my chin. Tried loads of products some work better than others but ultimately they always come back.ilovecakes wrote: »This is just a wee note to say hi! I have just looked through my cupboards and think I really should be joining in on this challenge... I am going to prepare a stash list and join next month. In the meantime I am looking to you all for inspiration!!
Welcome ilovecakes - good luck.
I have been using Model Co Luminosity Highlighting Serum but I am struggling to get it out of the container. It is shaped like a cream eye shadow/mascara tube with a wand and it is clear. So I can see lots of product left I just can't get to it. Left it upside down and still nothing and I can't cut it open. I think I will have to bin it as I can't think how else to get to the remaining product....grrr!

Welcome newbies - hope you will all be very happy here !!
off to see the horses in a minute - why is it the weekend is when im wide awake up at stupid o'clock, and during the week I could happily sleep all day??
Cant wait for later, a friend of mine has got two horses running at Ascot this afternoon and theres also the great Black Caviar who has come over from Australia to show our sprinters how things should be done.. be interesting to see if she can and how much better than ours she is - lovely lovely horse and another that I will happily collect and add to my stash of horses....
Im another 30something year old with spots - Im sure its the new black... have decided to ditch all my face exfoliators and washes and give just plain old soap (got my bar of pears for exactly this reason the other week, and its sitting on the shelf in its box still) and water a go. Think ive found my favourite moisturiser as well (certainally for the moment) its the Olay one with the blue lid that is for people in their 30s - not got much of it left, so im interspersing using that with my tesco cucumber one, but theres a definate difference between the two...
dont think ive got any ins or outs to shout about....Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0
