No Buying Unnecessary toiletries in June

Grape is the pick of the bunch Trudi! WHAT a pretty girl. Just think, it was this day three years ago that we were all over the moon about Fareer winning at Royal Ascot. Who knows what will happen in another three or four years?
Thanks for the Nivea link, quite a lot of effort for a sample, but it was fun.
A UU Aldi Lacura 10% Hydro Urea Foot Cream.
WIBA? Yes, yes and yeah, luckily I remembered ValM (I think) singing the praises of this so I bought two tubes. I now wish I'd bought at least three as it was an Aldi Special. Still it was economical to use and very good so hopefully it will last a couple of months. Some specials come around twice a year but I was waiting for this and I think it was a full year.
Whilst we are on about Nivea Pure & Natural I had a lightbulb moment with their body lotion this morning.
I'm 99.9% sure I was sent this to trial last summer, I thought it had a peachy fragrance though, and that was the best thing about it as it took ages to rub in. I was so excited as it was one of the first things I'd ever had to trial.
This does smell awfully like what I was sent and it is a beggar to rub in. Wish I'd opened it and smelled it before I bought it, I normally do this with unsealed products. I might downgrade it to leather cleaner.
TA. A massive bottle of aftersun. It's been in the cupboard for at least five over-optimistic summers and opened once I think.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Hugs to Rosemary and Maddimay, Rosemary hope your massage helps, Maddimay hope your purchases help chear you up.
Now I know I'm not supposed to be spending this month, but what do people think of this for storing unopened Makeup (and rarley used items) in so I don't lose track of what I have. If there is room I could maybe add some of my skin care stuff? What do you think? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Brand-Acrylic-Clear-Cosmetic-Carry/dp/B0069AZFQE/ref=sr_1_38?ie=UTF8&qid=1340278335&sr=8-38
Lovely case, my only thoughts are that acrylic can be very easily scratched:(, if this might bother you, be careful how you store and use it.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Sorry ladies, been so busy havn't had a chance to update lately as really manic - 11 days till my big exam! Will try and catch up with all your posts soon I promise.
Just wanted to ask a question - I have a lot of long-term blemishes on my face (mostly blackheads and blocked pores with the occasional zit). Recently I've been trying to get through my host of spot-beating products so the last few weeks I've been trying out some of them. Problem is they all seem to make my spots worse! Stupid question but is this a good thing - clearing out the rubbish, or is it making things worse?
Can't believe I'm in my mid-twenties and still suffering with spots!"Why, this is hell, nor am I out of it."0 -
Ahhhhhh just lost my post.
I have a UU St Ives Restoring 24 Hour Moisture body lotion 400ml - WNBA just because it was difficult to get it out of the bottle. It moisturised really well though. I had thought that there was more left, but think DH must have used it.
I have now opened a BS sweet pea duo that I got a few months ago for £1, I choose this for 2 reasons 1 its probably the item most likely to go off and 2 nothing else in the stash appealed to me tonight (except a couple of minis I'm saving for holiday).
I think I've done really well on the purchasing front this month with very few ins, plus outs are now greater than ins by size of product as well as number of items. I just hope I can keep this up.0 -
I've been browsing the internet (not buying) i saw this and quite fancied it till I saw the price http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10001_10001_123555136299_-1?breadcrumb=Home%7EBeauty%7EAccessories
is now a bad time to say i have thisi can vouch for it though, I've had it 2 years now and the brushes have really stood the test of time with regular washes and still look to have a good few years use left in them.
That is a beautiful palette. I was really tempted when I saw it reviewed but I must not buy any more eyeshadows as I have lots of palettes to use up
http://www.viviannadoesmakeup.com/my-makeup-illamasqua-neutral-palette/
i have loads to use up too but i couldn't resist. i figure if i at least indulge in colours that won't date and are multi purpose, wear anywhere types then at least i will use them as opposed to crazy bright ones that just follow fashion.Catriona_P wrote: »Sorry ladies, been so busy havn't had a chance to update lately as really manic - 11 days till my big exam! im in my mid twenties and i still have them! i find mine get worse when i change something in my skin care routine or when I'm very stressed. they do calm down when i relax. my deep red ones that don't really go anywhere but just stay huge and red tend to be the ones that i get with stress.
i use the origins spot remover on yellow ones but its potent stuff and will make it peel. stings like a b*tch on broken skin too. does the job though! its useless on the deep seated red ones though.0 -

The colour I saw was a beautiful bright orangey, coral. I didn't let myself look too closely as I'd bought the Models Own ones! This blogger has listed these three colours:
http://missyellieuk.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/notd-leighton-denny-coral-reef-harpers.html
I think it must have been Coral Reef that I saw. It looks more reddish in her pics.
I loved all of the Beetle Juice colours (what a fab present!) So far I've put the neon orange on my toes (incredible colour with just one coat). Then I put the more sophisticated Purple Grey on my fingers (lovely but needs two coats to get an even coverage). I stared at that for about 15 mins and then caved in and layered Ibiza Mix over the top :rotfl: (it's glittery and lovely).
Thanks for posting that for me Willowbee. Won't be bothering then. I don't want any more coral colours. I have a fave that I love wearing which is OPI Lunch at the Delhi. I also own a few pinks and that one doesn't look any different to ones I own. I also own Supermodel and love it (own 2 bottles anyway) however it's good to know he's going to keep giving it as a freebie as it should be cheap to replace when I eventually run out!
Here is a link to the Beetlejuice collection we bought for Emma's friend. The colours are lush aren't they?
http://www.boots.com/en/Models-Own-Beetlejuice-Mini-Nail-Trio_1253444/Oh oh oh ...........I'm doing a RC cruise in September too - flying to Rome on the 15th to join the ship and then doing the 12 night Holy Land cruise. I've never done a cruise before so am really excited
VALM - how did you find out what products the spa uses??
OT - I'm just back from a week in Tunisia where I've notched up a few UU's (mainly samples) but to ruin the good work, have just bought a bottle of Happy Hair shampoo to try after some one on here mentioned it....as if I need more shampoo....just been and counted and there are 11 opened bottles already on the go in the bathroom :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
Had to take Lucy cat to the vets tonight as she's been very poorly today and shes now in kitty heavenfeeling so sad
bunnykins x
Sorry to hear about Lucy, bunnykins. It's really sad when a pet dies. Sending my love.
It's my first cruise too. Found out the information on https://www.cruise.co.uk. Great site with loads of reviews and tips. I also look at https://www.cruisecritic.co.uk.
Not sure it's an IN but MrM bought me a new wash bag from Tesco the other day. It's one of the Wenger ones on offer. He buys his petrol from Tesco for work so ends up with loads of vouchers. The bag is really roomy and will be a good IN if it means I only take the one bag with us!Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Maybe I'll get some and give that a try, thanksI don't know enough about the physiology of spots to know if they're getting better or I'm just making it worse!
Just read about your poor Lucy cat bunnykins, really sorry. My cat has the same name. It's always sad to lose a pet, but at least you'll have the happy times to remember.

I'm 27 and still get spots too  they do always seem to get worse before they get better - especially since I HAVE to squeeze them and if they're sore I can't stop touching them. I find face scrub the best thing for black heads, and try to drink more water and eat healthier when I can. They flare up at my time of the month - when I'm already moody, just to wind me up some more!
I have had lotions and potions to apply directly to them but don't really rate any (haven't tried Origins). But I can tell when I have had a big night / haven't taken make up off / forgot to moisturise... !0
