That's lovely news, CMD, and just in time for Christmas!
I know it's a great feeling when you get back into the debt-busting mindset - make the most of it and good luck!
But also try to remember that though you have the same level of debt, you're not in the same place you were 7 years ago. I stressed a lot about the same thing (having same debt 4 years on...) until OH pointed out that we've done A LOT in that time - including getting married, installing central heating, treating our families and having an amazing holiday to South Africa for a friend's wedding.
And YES, I know that it would have been far better not to have debt and save up for all this stuff, but we're on the home straight now and determined that we'll be debt free in 18 months.
I know I don't know you very well CMD, but I'm pretty sure that you've done some memorable things in the past 7 years, not least have two gorgeous children and move back to Ireland to ensure they have a better family life.
So, enjoy!LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -

Thanks all! And yes Poddle, over the past 7 or so years we have travelled so much, lived in 3 different parts of the UK, moved home and had 2 beautiful children. So a lot to be grateful for
As you can see, we have wracked up quite a lot of debt. We are now in the fortunate position that we can pay off quite a bit every month so I am looking forward to seeing it go down in 2013 - never to go up again.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Happy New Year!
I am just recovering from the most horrendous flu whick kicked in New Years Day. I was so bad yesterday I couldn't get my temp down and cold barely lift my head off the pillow. Luckily OH was there to mind the kids!
Anyway - I didn't go mad in the post-xmas sales. Anything I bought was with a Xmas voucher.
So I have just paid off OH's o/d and also £500 off his Tesco Credit Card. I really think if we put our heads down this year we will have our debts paid off after our December paycheck. But that's what we need to do, keep our heads down and not be tempted by the finer things in life, lying to ourselves that we 'deserve it'. However, since OH came home to live and we are better off financially I sense there is a shift in our financial thinking. I think 2013 may very well be the year that we pay off our debts and then start to save.
I am excited. It feels realistic!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
