Have been having quite a productive few days. I managed to go an view a preschool for DS yesterday and have just filled out the booking form, so that will be him signed up for Sept 2013. It is free year too so very :money:He was a bit hesitant at first, then took off his coat and then refused to leave. Lol
I am taking it as a good sign.
I have been sorting and decluttering today and it definitely clears my head. Still a lot to do, but I am getting there slowly.
Moneywise I am plodding a long until payday. Ideally I would like the Tesco credit card paid off this month but OH was hit with some bank charges (£72 for going into his overdraft, thankfully said overdraft has been paid off) and we also have to pay a refundable booking deposit on the pre-school. But my main aim is to get under 22k for February.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Payday today for OH! Am able to pay £700 off his Tesco credit card and am hopeful when I get paid next week I will be able to pay off the other £800. OH is on emergency tax and although he has sent forms away it probably won't be sorted out until next month. So the aim for the end of Feb payday is to pay off his overdraft. We potentially have some stuff to sell which could pay off some more debt this month, but as I am the one that is left to organise all that stuff it may not happen.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Hi Clear my Debts
I have just read through your diary from the begining.
You are getting your life sorted out. You have had so many area to sort (i,e home, jobs, location etc etc)
Now you are getting more settled on the jobs front, you have an AMAZING amount of money you can throw at your debts. :T
I really believe you can do it now, if you have in excess of £1000 per month then the debts will go down soooo quickly.
I can only find about £600 per month, but even then its good to see the debts decreasing.
Keep going hun your doing great , DON'T book any holidays

Thanks for the lovely post SS. That has given me a bit of a boost. Yes, before now I think my heart wasn't really in it and we didn't have a lot of money to throw at the debts. I think this year is my time to get rid of them once and for all.
Holidays are definitely my weakness so I will keep away from booking any major ones. I am off for a night away tomorrow with my mother, granny etc but that has been budgeted for, so that is grand. And we will defo have a few weekends here & there this year, but nothing as big or as extravagent as last year!
I also paid for 1/2 of DS's birthday party today. We are taking him and some of his friends to a soft play centre. His last 2 birthdays have been very low key and he understands the concept this year so I can't wait for it to come aroundTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Am still here and plodding along. I am logging in everyday and have signed up to a fair few diaries to keep me on the right road.
We have a few unexpected (or unplanned) expenses this month so I am not sure if I will get to fully get rid of OH's credit card but I will do my best. I am stlll unsure about what date he gets paid as he started the job in December and got paid early, then in Jan he got paid on the 23rd. But maybe they pay a bit earlier in Jan! I could ask OH to find out but he is useless at things like that so I will have to wait. Then when he does get paid we will sit down and work out a spreadsheet so we can budget properly. I hope he does get paid on the 23rd of the month as that means I have only 20 days before I can pay off another bit. Lol!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Got a shock last night when I looked at my bank account and there was €30 left in it. A gas bill had come out and I thought it had already come out. I have a check of approx €112 to lodge and also have to get my wages for the month but I might not get them until next week, so things will be very tight until I get paid
I am also getting that 'out of control' feeling with regards to extra charges being added on etc. Usually I would start overpending or booking holidays, but I have remained restrained. I just need to get a spreadsheet from somewhere, and find out when OH gets paid.
When he gets his next paycheck we should be fine then.
I have gone off Coke, crisps and chocolate for Lent and am only going to eat homemade cakes/buns etc. I want to lose some weight and also eat more fruit. Also, there is no way I will bake more than twice a week and at least I know what the ingredients contain.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Hi CMD - just catching up. Sorry to hear your cash is low at the wrong time of month but it's a similar picture with us - although our overdraft facility is big enough to cushion it.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Nice to see you on here SavingH!
I don't have an overdraft on my Irish accoun t so don't have a cushion at all. I am trying to get rid of the UK o/d and hopefully won't need one in the future.

I seem to be just plodding away. I *think* OH gets paid on the 23rd and I am due my wages for January on Friday so I should be able to pay off OH's Tesco card and a large chunk of my o/d. I am definitely behind on what I want to be but have some items I need to sell.
If I could just give OH a big kick up the backside to help me then we would be sorted. He is brilliant with the kids & very good to me, but he isn't as motivated as me for sorting/filing/organising things :mad:Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
