RBS card is now gone. I am going to destroy that tonight and cancel it. Next stop is getting rid of the overdraft. Then I am on 0% debt until next April!
Quick update from me. I have applied for the full-time job and have an interview in 2 weeks time. OH has also applied for 2 jobs in Ireland - one in his area and one not. Either way, I reckon he will be back home to Ireland for XmasTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Good luck with the job interviews.
Well done on the RBS card, must feel good to be rid of that.
Hope all the family are ok.0 -
Thanks Wendz. The job interview for me is not until next Monday. I have mixed feelings, as if I go full time it means OH can come home, but I don't get to be a SAHM anymore. If I don't get it, we stay the way we are and neither of us are happy with that
In money news - yay I am under 16k I will be able to clear my overdraft with this months wages. Then as I am on 0% credit cards I am tempted to overpay on my mortgage until Xmas and then concentrate on the debts again, as we remortgage next year (May) and I would like to have a better LTV than we have. Anyone any suggestions?Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Go with what makes you feel most secure. We're in a similar boat in that once our car loan is paid off in September we only have one credit card and it's 0% until May, whereas the mortgage is at 5.9% and we are re-mortgaging at the beginning of 2014. For me my head says overpay the mortgage, but my gut just wants not to be in debt any more.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off0 -

I agree with you 100% about not wanting to be in debt anymore. My head is telling me to just get rid of it. We have a terrible rate (6.19%) as it was before the bank crash and we are BTL so surely we have to offered a better rate than that!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Had a terrible interview today The interview was that old-style where they try to catch you out. How they expect anyone to sell themselves with that type of interview I will never know. I did give as good as I got though!
OH has 2 possible job opportunties in Dublin. Am really hoping his follow through and then I won't have to think about full-time work at all!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Really hope he gets it, be fantastic for your family. Is the job doing what he does now?Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Thanks Beccie and Dinah.
Dinah - yes the job is for what he is doing already. The money would be ver good, so it would mean I could be a SAHM. The job I have been doing in have asked me to stay on for 1/2 aday til Xmas and then potentially 1 day a week after Xmas. It doesn't sound much, but the money is actually really good, so it would enable me to have some financial independence.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
