clearmydebts wrote: »Thanks Tir. Am feeling better today. I sat down with OH and we did a realistic budget for him last night, which means him giving me the same amount of money every month, but it is managed better.
He has also asked if he can work more days at home, which would save £200 more per month towards debt repayment. I have calmed down now and am not adding it to the sig but told OH when I have a spare £100 I will give it to him so we can get rid of that card asap.
Did you have a nice weekend?
Glad to hear you're feeling better. It's quite easy to have dips in the mood often when on DF journey.
Yes thanks, weekend was nice. Picked up our new MTBs with BF,saw his family and I went for my longest run so far, 6.75miles.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -

Just found your new diary CMD, have been clearing out the 1400+ emails that have built up over the last few weeks. Taking advantage of Grace FINALLY napping to catch up on things. Daft child has been awake almost constantly since we brought her home 2 days ago, I took her musical caterpillar off the side of the cot and now she sleeps - I think she was either overstimulated or scared of the giant face grinning down at her.
Will be following of course, and I hope you can have a fresh start in 2014. I'm starting to feel a bit lost now, we made big progress then ground to a halt, with maternity pay dropping very soon we're not going to be able to make much headway.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I am trying not to think about past mistakes we made with money, as it will only make me bitter. I need to try and learn from them, and learn a little bit of restraint with regards spending money.
HiJust started reading your diary and this statement totally resonates with me. Looking forward to hearing about your progress. Keep posting

Hi all and thanks to all the new people for subscribing
Well OH had a meeting with his boss at the beginning of the week and he is not allowed to work from home at all because he would be in southern Ireland. I was so piddled off when I heardIn fact so annoyed with everything that I booked us a flight to Portugal in Sept so we could have a proper family holiday. I know, I know, I know I shouldn't have but we really thought that OH would be allowed to work from home.
So we had a good chat and OH is going to apply to companies around Ireland to see if he can get into the area he wants at graduate level. Less money but at least we would be in the same country. So fingers crossed for that.
He is also going to be applying for a degree that he can do by distance learning, as he would be hard pressed to get any jobs available in Ireland at the moment without having one. It costs €9,000 for 2 years though
Not sure what else we can do though, there is no prospect of him getting back any other way in the near future.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Sorry to hear about that CMD,that's a tough blow but your plans seem sensible. And I wouldn't worry about booking the holiday, sometimes you need family time. Good luck with everything.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0
