Thanks Abba. Had a bit of a blip this week with the night and day out but if I can maintain my weight or just have a slight gain I'll be back in the game from Thursday onwards x

As most people start looking for property in the Spring I'd suggest starting ahead of the crowd in winter. If you're in a popular area prices also tend to rise faster when more people are looking. You'll still be able to continue saving up until the mortgage is needed at completion.

Thanks Abba and Starnac. I am back on the wagon again. I don't think I've done enough for the weigh in on Thursday but will keep going in the hope

Thanks for posting on my diary Verbatim. We have been looking at properties but are nowhere near the required amount. It would be next June before we reach that target. I'd say we will start bidding next March.

  • Morning all,

Forgot to log in after my weigh in last week. Lost 2lbs so that's 9lbs in 3 weeks. Another weigh in tomorrow. I have 11.5lbs to lose so am confident that I can reach that target for Xmas! Am hoping to lose 1.5lbs tomorrow as went to my sisters for pizza and wine on Sat night and pizza, although homemade, is one of the worst things you can have. I also had roast chicken on Sunday!

House deposit wise, we have another €10,000 to save before we can even start looking at houses, as that is just the bare deposit minimum, before any solicitor fees etc. We are limited to saving €800 as have Irish credit cards to pay first. These are a result of OH's trip away with his job (unplanned) and my tax from working self employed last year. We are aiming to be clear of them debts by June 2016, if not before. Feels like we will never have a house at this rate but I do feel better that we will be looking in our preferred area and that we will have a sizeable deposit.

Weigh in this morning. Another 2lbs off so just 9.5lbs to my target weight. Am treating myself to a Thai takeaway tonight because I haven't had one in ages and then I'll be good for the next week!
