Exactly. You have done your bit and if it's the house for you, you will get it. If not, it means there's a better house out there for you.
That's good news about childcare then - a big saving!
It felt like the right thing to do. I really do like the house, and apart from the decor, it has everything going for it. But if it's gone then it wasn't meant to be!
Yes - huge saving in childcare as DS is off to school in September and DD will have her free year so no more Montessori fees. Ever!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Wow that's great! I've got another year of nursery fees to go. Although they have gone down a bit since DS got his funded place in the school nursery (not the private one we pay for) in January. He now goes to the school nursery in the afternoons so I only pay for two mornings now instead of two full days.
What will you do with the extra money? Debt or deposit? That's the question :rotfl:Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -

Fun money during the summer. We have stalled our life for too long now. The kids do get to go lots of places but I want to tidy myself up a bit, get my hair cut, buy some nice clothes and just enjoy the summer!
Then come September it will go towards the deposit. And after we get a house that debt is going!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

That's a good plan. The kids won't be small for long so it's great that you have extra money to do things over the holidays with them. Then back to school, back to business. Sounds like you've got it all worked out. :TGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000

Lots going on in my world since last week. We had to rush DS to A&E last Wednesday (27th) as he came out in a purple blotchy rash which wouldn't disappear when we pressed a glass to his leg. Of course we thought the worse. Turns out he has a thing called HSP http://kidshealth.org/parent/medical/heart/hsp.html
His blood and urine came back clear but I have to take him back to the doctor once a week for a month and then once every six weeks for 6 months. So we got a huge scare, but it looks like he will be fine.
OH is starting his new job on Monday. He has the got to the US for 2 weeks so that's not something we were preparing for, although I am delighted for him.
So moneywise I'm not sure whether we are coming or going. OH needs money for the US. I have ordered $200 (using the money from the emergency fund) and the rest he will have to put on his credit card. The hotel is paid for and his lunch, but he may need to get his dinner and claim the expenses back when he returns.
And then we have the bill for A&E and the doctor every week, plus OH had to go to the doctor last week, so I'll be lucky if we aren't dipping into my credit card too. All very frustrating but it just goes to show the importance of having a decent amount of money in the emergency fund as 2 separate things has us dipping into our credit cards straight away.
Luckily OH is entitled to health insurance in this new job so we will get a good chunk of money towards GP visits, but that won't come into force for a few weeks I'd imagine.
Other than that, all is good. At least I'll save on food bills with OH gone. LolThe in-laws were here last weekend for the bank holiday weekend and we had a lovely time. We also booked a few days away in August to Edinburgh. The flights were €89 return for the 4 of us and we will be staying with a good friend so not bad for 3 nights away, and the kids get to go on a plane, which they will be thrilled about!

Happy Saturday everyone! Weather is absolutely miserable here. Hope it is better for everyone else!
Brought DS to the doctor on Thursday and his bp and urine was okay so all looking good for him. Have to keep bringing him for the next 3 weeks and then 6 weeks afterwards but the doctor said it would be just €20 each time so not as bad as I thought.
OH finished his old job yesterday. They were really nice to him and give him €100 in a card, so he can buy a Kobo e-reader with that as he broke his last one. I packed his case yesterday and need to go shopping with him this afternoon to get some t-shirts as he is going around in rags. Think he will be packed by this evening though so he can relax tomorrow.
We are invited to my parents for dinner this evening and my sisters for a BBQ tomorrow so that saves me cooking both days and I have to work this weekend.
Forgot to mention that the house we like hasn't sold yet so I wrote them a letter saying that we can't get mortgage approval until October but we are interested. Haven't heard a word back. So watch this space....Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Glad to hear DS was okay. How scary for you though! And E20 a time to go to the doctors? I know it could be worse but it does make me grateful we don't have to pay.
Hope all goes well with DH in US.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Oh gosh what a scare with your DS, CMD. I am glad he is okay and it was not the dreaded M.
I'm so happy to hear about your OH job, sounds like it was a great move even if it delays plans a little.
It was a great idea about the letter, Star. I hope it pays off, CMD. Next door turned down higher offers to sell their house to a lovely young couple. They had bought this house from new in 1970 and wanted to pass it on to someone in the same situation. It does warm the heart to hear these stories!
Have a nice weekend, hope the weather has improved for your BBQ.:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0
