Sounds like you did well. Well done for sticking to your promise. I know it would have been hard with so much temptation.

Sounds like you did well with present buying too

It was a lovely day out. Surprisingly I wasn't too tempted. I was disappointed by the range in Next and the other shops had fab babies clothes but not much of a selection for older kiddies. Nearly bought DD a swimsuit, which she does need, but decided she can make do with the other one until she is bursting out of it. Lol, poor DD!

Thanks Lara. Yes, I have renewed vigour! Although I do start to flag a bit halfway through the month. I'll keep plugging away though!

  • Virgin credit card has been paid so have updated my sig. Would love to be under 11k by the end of March.

Have the mid month slump. Feel like I'm plodding along pushing through the days until payday!

I know that feeling well CMD! The end of the month will be here soon enough! I always catch myself wishing my time away and have to stop it! :o We both get paid on the 20th so by the time the 1st of the month has rolled around we feel the slump and still have 20 days to go! :p

It's my Mum's 60th birthday on the 21st of the month so we're going to have to buy her present on payday... if I can decide what to get her! What do you get the woman who has everything?! I made her a frame for Christmas so that's out!

A box to put it in :rotfl: sorry. Such an old joke. I couldn't help myself! :o

What about an experience of some kind? A hot air balloon ride/spa day/wine tasting/Ferrari track day? (Depending what she's into obviously ;) )

We suffer from mid month slump too. It's pants :(

  • What about a night away? Or dinner in a fancy restaurant? We did a This is Your Life photobook for my Dads 60th and he absolutely loved it. We got him other things too but he was mad about the photo book.

The problem is that she has expensive tastes and we don't have £££s to spend! :o We can't even take her out for lunch/dinner because we end up feeling annoyed afterwards as she tends to unintentionally take the mick, ie ordering 3 courses when we only want a main, getting the most expensive thing on the menu because 'it looks nice' whilst we're all having pizza, ordering the £25 bottle of wine because she only likes New Zealand Sauvingnon etc. We've been burnt by her a lot in the past! :p

I'm tempted to dig out some old photos of my brother and I and do some recreations but it depends on having the time to get together to do it, we've left it so late! :o

    Afternoon tea?

Followed by nibble and more Prosecco at either your house or your brothers? Afternoon tea is a set price so you can control it!

  • Plod plod plod!

12 more days until OH's payday and it feels like forever. I was beating myself up thinking I haven't done so well this month but then I realised it is nearly 5 weeks (4 weeks 5 days) in between OH's payday and there have also been a lot of presents to buy even though we declined to go to a good few of them.

OH's nephew is being christened next weekend and it is right before payday. It is expensive to drive there but we shouldn't spend too much as the meal will be covered and we have bought the present already. Also we all have something to wear so don't need to buy any new clothes. Hopefully OH's parents will cook us our Sunday dinner before we hit the road, another saving. Lol
