Don't really know whether I am coming or going today to be honest. I have just filed OH's tax return and I have been temporarily locked out of my account so waiting to get back in. We don't owe anything on our rental but I didn't want to incur the charge.
We are remaining on the bandwagon but will fall off it a bit tonight as we will order take away. Although I did say one a month! In fairness I've been at this tax thing all afternoon and OH has been at softplay with the kids so none of us has been here to make a dinner.
February and March are quite expensive months for me.
I have:
Sister's birthday
Friends daughters birthday
2 x wedding presents
1 x retirement present
Pay for OH's 3 month gym membership (he really needs to lose weight)
Christening present (already got)
DS's birthday
2 x nieces birthdays
It just seems to be never ending to be honest.
Our Sky box died yesterday and when I rang they said it would be 60euro to get an engineer out but I called again today and threatened to cancel and they said they would waive the fee so that was a result.
Feeling a bit meh today. Have a huge mouth ulcer and it is so sore so I suspect that has something to do with it!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Aww, hugs for feeling meh. Hope you feel more chipper today! I hate having ulcers, I don't talk because my mouth hurts then I get into a funk because I'm not talking!
Sounds like a couple of expensive months coming up, can you make gifts, or part of the gifts to save some money?
At least you didn't have to pay to get your Sky box fixed! Enjoy the victories!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

Thanks Birdie. I just hate having ulcers. They are so painful and really get me down
I have been inventive with the gifts and have used some vouchers towards them so not as expensive as they usually would be. I actually need to get in touch with you about one of them!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Am in much better form today. Wages have been paid and also paid off the credit card. So I am now under 5k and and my total debt is under 12k. Should have some more left at the end of the month but wanted to give myself a comfortable buffer, as having little money in the bank really stresses me out - big time.
Have gotten a grip on the present situation:
I have:
Sister's birthday (already had most of that, so just added a few things, came to about €5
Friends daughters birthday - need to spend €20 but have something to return to Smyths of the same value. Have no receipt but will chance my arm
2 x wedding presents - have gotten most of the stuff for this. Just need to order 2 sets of champagne glasses @ €28 for both.
1 x retirement present (have this)
Pay for OH's 3 month gym membership (OH is going to organise a direct debit so the cost is spread out)
Christening present (already got)
DS's birthday (Have decided to have a party at home this year, so way cheaper, will budget €50 for his present & can pay for this out of my February paycheck)
2 x nieces birthdays (will use money off codes from Next for one, the other present will come from The Robyn's Nest)
Feel much better now that is under control. It feels way more manageable. Am also applying for a balance transfer on my Irish credit card. It is 0% for 6 months but will aim to have it paid off before or on then anyway.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Was a bit naughty today and bought my lunch at work and then had fish n chips for tea. I was craving chips so it was better I gave into the temptation rather than driving myself mad by obsessing.
Was more MSE this evening though and did out a proper meal plan and ordered my shopping onlineTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Hope you enjoyed your chips last night! Sometimes you do just have to give in or you end up eating everything in the house because you're so unsatisfied! As long as it's a one-off, it's OK!
Great news that the debt has taken another hit! :TOvercome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

19 days until OH gets paid. Seems like such a long time. I suppose it was 14 days ago he got paid so nearly half way through our month.
Did an online shop again last night as for some reason the one the night before didn't go through. Not sure why? Managed to get 8.23euro off it through e-coupons. Ordered a few nice things as well as we end up buying them in the shop and that is more expensive in the longer term.
So had no dinner in the house yesterday as the shopping didn't arrive but managed to cobble something together which was great as before I would have ordered a take out. Need to resist coke over the weekend and give it up completely.
I am going to Bokwa tonight instead of tomorrow because we are going for lunch and shopping for my sisters birthday. So will be breaking my 3 month rule of going into a shopping centre but the kids have been invited to a party on Sunday so needed to go in anyway. I have a 50euro voucher for my birthday so I plan to buy DS's birthday present and the other birthday present with it. I really need to buy some bras so whatever is leftover will go towards that. I am seriously short. Lol! Apart from that I will not be spending.
I am mad with myself because I had a 20 euro voucher and a 12 euro next gift card before Xmas and can't find them anywhere. I think I left them in a hotel we stayed in before Xmas. I never lose anything so am mightily piddled off.
So kids have a party on Sunday morning so will probably try and declutter their little playroom on Sunday afternoon. They love fiddly figures but some of them they never play with so need to donate to charity. I decluttered the bottom of their wardrobe the other day. We bought some shoe storage boxes so it looks way better and I have at least 10 pairs of shoes to pass on to friends or charity.
Better sign off and get their lunch. I am getting the evil eyes from the 2 of them!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Had a lovely day with my Mam and sister today. We went for lunch at a lovely place and then went shopping. So true to my promise I didn't buy any kiddies clothes, well for my kids anyway.
Got DS's birthday present and my friends child an outfit for her birthday with my voucher. Also managed to pick up 2 sets of glasses for the retirement and wedding present, so saved myself the 5euro delivery charge. My mother took pity on me and bought me a much needed tracksuit too. She is so good, she also bought some Patricks Day stuff for the kiddies as well! Also got some bras and socks, lol!
So I had to pay for lunch and the bras and socks but not too bad at all.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Sounds like you did well. Well done for sticking to your promise. I know it would have been hard with so much temptation.
