Might be worth asking your GP about Hidradenitis Suppurativa especially if it's something you've had recurring for a long period of time.

Thanks for that! Unfortunately my GP is terrible at doing anything so if I suggest that I may have that, she'll see there is no cure and MIT bother to test for it.

My GP is the bane of my life!

Right, this is my last resort otherwise I'm going to just scream.

About 3 months ago, I got a small boil on my inner thigh near the top where my pantyline by the base of my bum cheek. Ive had these small boils on and off for as long as I can remember and generally they go within 3 days.

The one I had 3 months ago was very painful and bigger than most. Anyway, I applied some sudocrem and it's calmed down.

Yesterday, I felt a bump there again. Today I am unable to sit properly, and I have radiating pain from it. It also feels like a very tight cluster of boils all red and angry. Nothing has a head on it and I've read everywhere not to squeeze or poke about. Its just the most depressing thing.

I've had to tell my boufriend about it as I really can't haves sex or even move at a normal speed, and he's been so understanding but I am dying of embarresment.

It's the most painful thing in the world. at work today I lied and said I'd hurt my hip last night cleaning so I wouldn't have to tell them.

I've tried to make a doctors appointment and the closest they can give me is the 15th of June  which I've booked so I can discuss these with them anyway.

I was tempted to go to a walk in clinic until the following information was given over the phone

    1. 2-3 hour wait on plastic chairs  I can't sit on them, and I can't stand for more than 5 minutes!!
    2. If they feel it's an 'angry' boil, they will lance it there and then. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. This terrifys me!!!

So I've resorted at buying some savlon and some bandage dressing things and sitting still for the rest of the evening. I have work in the morning (desk job) and Dred the pain.

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas that are cost effective or quick to try and speed up healing. I just feel like crying.

I've had them on my vagina in the past (although MUCH smaller) and I have a couple of scars! I'm really worried this will leave a massive crater. I know my boyfriend really wouldn't care, but I do! Any help would advice on whats helped you would be great!!!

Have you gone to a Dr or GUM clinic about this?

It sounds like it could be Herpes.

O know someone who has had loads of what you have just had. she too started quite young and her granny used to use a hot poultice on them and lance them with a needle (cos she couldn't do it herself), she did see her GP about it once as she also got them in her arm pits, he gave her a bodywash and longterm antibiotics (sorry OP can't remember what it was called).

BUT she swears by the poultice, says it's really painful but once she has burst it the relief is unbelievable.

Edited to say she was told by GP it was something to do with her sweat glands which is why you get them in the groin and armpit area.

Firstly - I do not have Herpes. I believe that if I'm old enough to have sex I'm old enough to look after my own sexual health and am always 1. Safe! 2. Have regular STI checks (not had one for a year as I've had the same partner and we both got checked out before any unprotected sex was had ((contraceptive implant!)) h

Secondly - regardless of how painfull or infected it is, I ain't sticking anything in it, nor is my granny :D

I think if your friend got them that often, and they spread to her armpits, she should of pushed for more medical intervention. I'm off to the go on Friday evening as the site why mine was infected is still very sensitive. Not painful though. I'm wondering if this is just because of how stretched the skin was? I had some bleeding and while it's been healing it has had that 'healing itch' you get with any wound.

like I said before, normally in the past they last for a coupe of days and quickly either burst or die down, this is the first real problem I've had that has resulted in a&e.

I'm still waiting for 'ladies time' to be over so i can shave again! I've started the moisturising routine and have tcp at the ready for any problems! I had a another little bump pop up the other day, put on tcp before bed, wouldn't know it had even reared itself!

What's funny, is I'm now, 3 week since shaving anywhere, possibly the warmest I have ever been.

I realised yesterday that I hadn't been particularly cold for a week! This amount of hair on my legs is like wearing breathable tights! The boyfriends being very accepting, but he's stopped rubbing my legs lol

It sounds daft, but you do get used to the pain of waxing. I actually find my legs being waxed is way more painful than my underarms or bikini area now. And I don't find regrowth to be uncomfortable in any way - especially because over time you have less hair to regrow anyway!

Hope you find a solution that works for you anyway OP :)

Stop winding up to OP, trust me if you had this you would know about it (yes have had it and luckily I'm free of it for now)
OP stop worrying, I think alot of people now are trying to wind you up, you have not got MRSA, Herpes or anything else, yes you have had a boil or whatever you want to call it and you have got antibiotics that will sort it out.
My advice would stop using the computer to diagnose yourself, see the GP on Friday and say what you need to about the receptionist.
Stop reading this thread and go and relax. Forget about it life is too short.
Weight has a contributing factor in getting these.

Thanks sam.4000. I know weight has some contributing factors, and I am overweight, BUT I have had them forever, even when I wasn't overweight. Although losing a few pounds would be good :)

    I've chilled out a little now :)

You try having something wrong thats embarressing and tell me you would never just pop it into google before running down the GP :P

But thanks for the calming ! :)

Waxing can also cause ingrown hairs as hair can break off rather than pull out straight away! :)
