I'm trying all I can to avoid lancing! I have a horrible feeling I have in-grown hair stuck in, so I'm hoping once the inflammation has gone down, with TCP and hot compresses it will pop right out. It seems silly to have to go through lancing for just one flippin' pube!! I'm VERY sensitive at the moment so don't want to start diggin' about myself... but I flippin' will if it means not being Lanced!!!

I have a solution that works for me every time.

I have suffered from this problem for years my Dr is unable to give me a proper diagnosis.

I was so desperate one time as it was hurting to walk,as a last resort I used Elizabeth Arden 8hr Creme Skin protectant, I don't know what properties are in it,( but it is known for it's healing), it works everytime, 8 hrs and the boil has burst, it is marvellous stuff, but not cheap, I have had my tube for at least 18 months.

I would not be without this creme, it has so many healing and protecting properties. You won't be sorry you bought it I promise you.

I was going to post up how I'm doing but didn't want to steal by newer posters thunder!

I'm practically healed physically. Mentally, I'm zapped. I know EVERYTHING about ingrown hairs now after my hours of searching for a 'do this, it'll fix everything' miracle. I've refused pony blank to shave any part of my body since it happened as I'm so petrified of it happening again! The boyfriend hasn't mentioned anything, although its now my 'Ladies time', so he doesnt really know how hairy everything is xD

I intend on shaving next Friday. That's right, I'm having to psych myself up! I have in the bathroom cabinet : TCP, Breathable bandage things, Tumeric in the kitchen cupboard, onions in the fridge, bacon (apparently using the fat on boils works!!!), sanex showergel, and I'm on the edge of spending £15 in Tendskin off amazon which is supposed to sort the problem out too.

For as long as I can remember I have had the odd cyst/boil or whatever they are come up (first one, I think I was 7, I remember having to make up an excuse because I couldn't ride my bike because it was so sore!!). I have some deep scars from past ones too :(

Luckily my boyfriend has been entirely supportive and even offered To work overtime for the next 18 weeks at weekend to pay for Laser hair removal if I felt that's what I needed.

As much as I love the idea of Laser treatment, I just can't justify the cost in my brain :(. Shavings been ok since I was 13, so 9 years and one bad experience, it isn't going to happen everytime.... I hope.

I've just gotta get 'back on the horse' so to speak.

Thanks for your concerns anyway :) xxxxx

I'm glad you are smiling again, I hope that's a sign you are recovering, what an ordeal! xxx

I hope you can find time to write to your GP and have a good old grumble at them for not seeing you earlier, I think you have been very let down by them.
They should be apologising to you, and revising their appointment system, maybe they will listen to you now.

Ah yes, well I have an appointment booked for the 15th with them, where I will be talking to the doctor about what's happened and that the receptionist has insisted I was 'fine' and that I will be putting a formal complaint in. Obviously after I get checked out. I don't want to pee her off before she goes anywhere near there :D

I'm still shocked at the receptionists 'you'll be fine' attitude when it was so serious. I've been on 4000mg of Fluclomixxilin (sp?) every since and they gave me some drip fed antibiotics while I was there as the risk of septicaemia was so high.

Im generally someone who waits for things to get better on there own, and feel that sometimes we actually mess things up even more by trying to fix something that would rectify itself, but in this case, I seriously needed a doctor.

For me to realise I need to see a doctor, it's gotta be pretty bad lol

Glad it's getting better and can i make a suggestion please?Ask your docs to check for MRSA...I got infected with it 2 years ago and suffered for 5 months with recurrent boils and had to have several operations and the others were squeezed out and omg the pain.Flucloxacillin helped with the first one but for the others I needed much stronger antibiotics. Better safe than sorry.

That's a good point, I think MRSA is resistant to Flucloxacillan.
