I managed to get the tesco finest unsmoked ham today in sto@kton extra.

I went in to look for the ribeye steak, packs were marked at £15.00/kg SEL was at £20.00/kg.

Anyway the unsmoked ham was a £34.80 spend and after a bit of "what does that mean on the board? If things don't add up..." A very welcome £34.80 refund.

Thank you to the posters on this forum.

Mega fail! Had a manager today who, despite speaking to the Tesco's helpdesk who was saying to give me the double discount, refused to and stood her ground. She said to me that people at the contact centre have no idea about the real world, have not worked in the store before, Think that the world is made of money and basically are stupid. She also said to me, I am just about to give this person on the phone a hard time.

She also brought the grocery manager over, stood over me and both of them said no you are not having any sort of double payback we will give it to you at the lower price or nothing. This is despite the help desk saying no, you need to give me the double discount.

The cs manager was trying to say because this meat had been brought in before the offer started, despite it being exactly the same, it was not suitable for the double the difference. It was actually an awful experience, I felt really bad actually for the person on the other end of the phone and I wont return to that store.

I phoned the help desk once I got home and calmed down a little bit and they were absolutely aghast with what has happened. They said I should have received the double the difference and there were going to escalate this to the store manager. They also offered me £25 in a voucher.

In this instance it is always worth noting names of staff (only do this if they are rude or offensive) and reporting them because of their manner not only you but also the tesco CS rep on the phone have had. "Hold" on to your original receipt, proof you were over-charged and store could be fined. DTD is sometimes big and beneficial for a customer point of view but it's nothing for tescos, a drop in the ocean compared to the fines and court actions they could receive for not only actively over-charging but in this case also contradicting the company policy AND advice.

Oh and the local extra had Finest Pork Leg Joint today SEL listed at HALF PRICE 4.99pkg but pack labelled/scanned 9.99pkg. No problem with the DTD, staff member collected the SEL, remarked that it should have been removed as it had expired and then actually told me she would do DTD without asking.

This sounds like the pricing integrity manager at Salford Tesco. She boasted that the store is top of the Tesco league for pricing accuracy - on the basis that the store doesn't pay out many DTD refunds.

The real reason, of course, is the store is denying customers their rights by failing to apply Company DTD policy.

Best way is to write to Philip Clarke, CEO.

Managed to get the Wiltshire ham too. Charged full price £21 for it, got double the difference back after having to eventually speak to the manager. Such a coincidence when I took her to show her where they were the rest of the hams without the Half price labels had dissapeared, they didn't believe me but I stood my ground :-)

1 smoked and 1 unsmoked gammon for me. £45 worth of meat for free. Just about worth the 20 mins I waited at customer services while every staff member on duty checked to make sure it was the 'right one'.

    DW :D

So I've just been to my local tesco where on the back wall they had pampers active for nappies half price. I grabbed loads as they were too good to miss.
On heading down the baby aisle opposite the back wall I saw they had active fit on 3 for 2 on packs of up to 60 nappies (mine were 33 packs)
Went to self scan the offer didn't work. Half hour later of trying to convince the assistants then the manager I was told that the nappies I'd bought were from a different area in the store and the 342 offer did not apply to them as they were end of line stock.
Told him tht the 342 signs did not state that those weren't included and all I got was that he would refuse the sale.

I bought them anyway as mega cheap but surely the 342 should apply?

Do you think this qualifies for dtd?

    Thanks in advance.
