Works the same for unsmoked too. Similar minor trouting at T Seacroft, Leeds - still not improved their CS since my last complaint I see.

Woman on customer service checked label and SEL and with butcher who said yes wrong price. Back for refund and another lady at til (saw her name later - Compliance Manager :rotfl:). SA asked her to do the refund. Anyhow compliance manger then wriggling out of SEL mistake and later DTD..! - "well the product is priced correctly at £17.84." Me "no it says £9.99 per kilo and SEL says £4.99". CM - "Well this is a different product as barcode different." Me " Well it says Tesco Finest Wiltshire cure gammon unsmoked on SEL and that is what it says on the product I have brought that was just above it - there is no other product that says this, and there were 3 others on the shelf" (which SA confirms to her). She then proceeds to give me offer price". Me "Doesn't DTD apply" CM "no because the price on product is correct therefore you haven't been overcharged technically so DTD doesn't apply" (sic cos packaging said £9.99 per kilo and receipt). At which point I said "So Tesco are entreating me to buy at 4.99 per kilo but know it has 9.99 p kilo on packaging so overcharge of nearly £5 but not wrong and not DTD?" She then said she would pay it this once but DTD didn't really apply. Unbelievable .... If she had carried on was just about to ring Head Office - but think I might add Trading Standards for good measure in future - definitely a new 'unofficial' policy re meat DTD and non compliance. If their prices were correct then they wouldn't need to pay out.

Anyhow this was at the end of an aisle - not sure if they noticed that next to the unsmoked finest Wiltshire gammon was a pile of smoked finest Wiltshire gammon also overpriced above a yellow SEL - so check out if you are in . (Note on the aisle itself SEL and gammon at 9.99 - but end of aisle display has offer SEL).

Sounds like I got off quite lightly on the trout front. My gammons were on an end of aisle too, and I saw but didn't check the unsmoked. My trout checked with the butcher too and removed the SEL'S. Although she could not work out that the SEL'S were not the problem, the overpriced new stock was. Enjoy your free meat !

Thank you sooo much, checked site today as was passing a toscos and saw posts about Gammon, popped in got two finest oak smoked gammon joints for free:j this is only my second dtd so very pleased. Was given dtd without even asking for it along with an apology for the pricing error. One very happy bunny, thanks again:beer:

Tesco finest ribeye steak. £15/kg on sel, packs priced at £20/kg.

Pricing integrity manager said it wasn't a misprice as the error was in the factory that packed the goods. The same PIM who said that DTD did not apply where the SEL was out of date!

:cool: How many times have we heard that one? That's the whole point, the SEL shouldn't be out of date. Tesco make a mistake=DTD.

Visited my local Tesco Extra in West Durrington yesterday to buy some new scales.
Chose Weightwatchers Ultra Slim glass Electronic Scale with SEL £15.00 which looked a bargain as they were better than most others there.
I got to till and they charged me £22.50 so thinking I had made a mistake I went to Customer Services with my concern and she looked, said it was wrong SEL which showed for Weight Watchers Glass Precision Electronic Scale so I got £15.00 back and great scales for just £7.50 :T

On their website a similar version, mine are slightly better, are on offer from £22.50 reduced to £15.00 so think they have possibly not updated their price.
