Tesco Misprices Thread 14

I have never taken a picture of a SEL for DTD:o
Showing them is a must, taking a picture and telling them is wrong and will lead to more problems imo. Just take them to the SEL and that's that, simple.
Act thick and say " well is it the right product?"
(obviously you know it is) in case they try and say it isn't ask to speak to a manger, if that fails ring HO0 -
Sent my husband in to get a couple of steaks this evening. Went through at full price so advised him to go to Customer Services. They refused point blank to honour the DTD and just gave him a refund. Not impressed as I quite fancied a nice piece of steak.
In cases like that you should Point blank refuse the refund! no matter what! once you accept the refund it's over:(
Safely tell them that you will not be accepting the refund and will be speaking to HO. Walk out the store and phone them up and explain to them what has happened. 9 out 10 times they will tell you to go back in and collect your DTD after they have spoken to the store.0 -
Looked online and rump steak does not seem to be on offer? So don't understand the 'went through at full price' bit. Can someone explain please? Sorry to be dim!0

It was the Sirloin that is on offer. Should be £17/kilo, but the label say £8.50 p kilo. Some of the packs are from before the promotion, so still go through at £17/kilo, so overcharged by 50%, DTD=free steak.0

Hi
Re photos and DTD I don't take a photo and then use it at customer services, it's just in case there is a problem getting DTD.
I don't use the photo unless refused Dtd and so far have never needed to show it, it's just insurance.
It's a great tip to say "let me show you" and to refuse a refund unless you get Dtd.
I would always recommend a friendly approach but to be firm about getting Dtd.The Cabbage

sorry it was sirloin. and according to the two that scoffed it very nice.
sorry for my error0 -
Got the last pack of sirloin (mispriced) this evening after work. Nearly got trouted at CS desk. CSA took ages to go back and check (I couldn't be bothered to go all the way back to meat counter) whilst queue built up. Came back and said couldn't find it so I ended up having to go all the way back anyway! Got refund of half price so I said "Is that DTD?", so after that got full refund.0

What an idiot! Went into Tesco £ast Hun5bury to get some milk and saw some Gillette antiperspirant reduced to half price. I really like this product so thought I'd take advantage of the offer and picked up ten of them. Went through the self service checkout as all the others had a bit of a queue. After paying I checked the receipt and realised I had been charged full price. Delighted at the prospect of getting them for nothing I trotted off to CS only to be told what I already knew but had forgotten, that I wouldn't get dtd as I had used the self checkout. Of course, by now the SA had removed the SEL so the opportunity was gone. Then to make matters worse, I was so peeved off that I had missed such an opportunity that I asked her to take them all back and give me a full refund. So now I haven't even got them at the price I wanted to get them. What an idiot!
Hopefully someone else will find them. They were the 150ml size. Not sure why the SEL was wrong; might have been ood or a different problem. Anyway, happy hunting.0 -

firstly yes you can get DTD on self checkouts (90% of mine were, when I was using SCOs)
and secondly 10  too many!:o looks suspicious, try and aim for 3/40 -

Paperweight I have had several run ins with the £ast Hun5bury customer services; they go to great lengths to avoid paying DTD and will use every trick possible to avoid having to put a transaction down in their DTD book. I would phone Toscos main Customer Services number, explain what happened to you and what you were been told by Customer Services. Ask them to confirm that what you were told was incorrect and then ensure you get your DTD on a moneycard.0
