OK - just popped up in red

    Error - F: is inaccessible

    :(

My guess is , in order:

    1. HDD onboard driver card faulty
    2 HDD format collapsing
    3. Head crash, causing either physical damage to the MBR sectors or the head.

Let it run for a while, although I must admit it's not looking great.

If its throwing that many errors I would suggest you download the Seagate Disc manger and perform a media check low level format. Its no good relying on windows, its doesnt work at a low enough level

Ok fig - will give it another 10 minutes then update on what it's telling me.

Whats the worse case scenario - that I have to buy just a new HDD (circa £60????) or a new laptop??
