AkmaBallaDesigns - you will have to change your name because you are not allowed to advertise your business on here and having your business name as your forum name can get you barred from the forum.

:rotfl: I suggested DS1 could make a living busking, he's a very talented juggler!

I was being facetious - I juggle several jobs at once and keep all my plates spinning in the air, I work in events management:D

    hello.
I have a party business, i apply temporary glitter tattoos soon to be adding glimmer strands (for hair), i also do alsorts of fetes, festivals, fundraisers etc which we've had a lot of fun doing over the summer we only started in june. we are also hoping to add a bouncy castle and karaoke system to the business to help broaden our customer base by offering different things.

Primarily I run a salvage business. Buying and selling damaged vehicles/damage repairable vehicles and their parts. Secondary I have 2 rental properties at the minute, a gorgeous wife, and daughter and another on the way

    I want your life:D

seriously though i used to dabble in salvage cars many years ago wish i could get back into it again it was back in the day when i was skint (nothings changed ) and it was a cheap way to get a decent car having just bought my first house at age 20.

First car i bought was a sierra xr4x4 in white spent some money on it used it for a while and sold it on normally at a profit and just worked my way to something a bit newer if i could afford it .
  • Hello, long time reader first time poster here.

I bought a troubled nightclub with a terrible reputation which was on the brink of being closed down by the council, I've since managed to turn it around and rebuild the business which I have now left in the capable hands of the general manager I employ there.

I'm now looking at a new investment in the form of a livery yard with riding school.

This is the only thread I've actually read every post on all 11 pages (so far!) and a good read it has been.

To those who have posted saying they're looking into starting their first business I would say make sure you do your homework first, there is always something else you can research or another article you can read. Oh and when you've estimated your budget, add an extra 50% on top for nasty surprises.. they will happen!
  • Great thread, its amazing to hear what everybody does. You talented, creative lot you!

    Thanks.
It is hard at times but I like it. I've been full cycle tbh. From YTS at 16 to minimum wage job then progressing all the way through to management, then running my own company with 52 staff, T/O £1.2 million 1st year, then the dreaded bankruptcy. Then a taxi driver and built back up to where I am now. Have learnt a lot from it and now know the true value of money and also what is important in life. I'm only 31 and have plans to be semi retired by maximum 50. People may say it's unrealistic but I see it differently and that's my goal anyway
