Just intrigued to know what businesses people run on here as I've seen some great advice but we don't always know what people actually do

I run my own business selling childrens play activity tables to businesses and surgeries plus I sell wooden toys and childrens personalised pressies. My other half is a mortgage advisor also working from home

What do you all do ?

I run Puppy School training and socialisation classes for puppies aged 12 - 20 weeks, and I also do one to one session for older dogs and offer advise on dog behaviour (most of which is just perfectly normal 'doggy stuff' in an innapropriate way for living with humans. I don't consider myself a 'behaviourist' (who deals with obsessive or abnormal dog behaviour) but more a behavioural trainer - I teach the owners to teach their dogs an alternative behaviour which is more acceptable. Occasionally I also do dog walking an pet sitting, usually for former Puppy School clients.

I organise events (Air Shows) for the Royal Navy. I have also previously dabbled in marketing, advertising, print and design.

I am employed as a Strategy & Project Manager but the role is close to a consultant than an employee

On the side I do web development and therefore naturally run a few websites (some ecommerce on a profit share basis but mainly advertising revenue from information sites)

Just now trying to decide if to do some photography as a sideline too.

We run our own independent chartered building surveying practice (RICS) from home covering all aspects of construction. We are not tied in with any of the big lenders when it comes to surveys so we can offer impartial advice. I also have a little part time job as verger (makes me sound ancient!) at our local church which means I'm there at weddings (and sometimes funerals) to open up the church and make sure everything is in place for the big day to (hopefully) run smoothly!!

I am a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) and run my own practise specialising in high end problem tax issues, we also do the mundane accountancy stuff but I prefer to leave that to other people in the practise.

I also own an internet cafe that I set up with a friend a few years ago and act as MD though do very little.

I have dabbled elsewhere, get bored easily like a new challenge every couple of years.

I am employed by a large PLC during the day, but I also run some websites as this has been an interest of mine for many years. Current projects are a cashback site (originally I developed the script with the aide of a foreign developer 3 years ago who then went on to sell the script over and over again - now this same script powers many of the cashback sites mentioned all the time on this forum - doh missed out there) - I could be tempted to sell this site. I run a broadband comparison site and also I am developing a book price comparison site.

run own design studio specialising in kitchens bedrooms and bathrooms. offer complete design solutions for clients in retail and to builder developer. currently looking at developing less abled and aged specific bathroonm and kitchen solutions and may start this as seperate co. also developing water and to a smaller extent energy efficient product portfolio to sell B2B this is v exciting as you may be able to do this for nearly free and save the world too. dealing with regs though is a long process.
