Wandering around up the road and I wandered into this shop - and thought of LIR. Firstly, because it was "posh stuff", then because I saw the price tags (ambulance crew were friendly and after some oxygen I was fine) ... and so here's the link: http://www.firedearth.com/ - some tiles in there £200-400/sq m.... some cheaper stuff too
This one's a virtual snip at just £40/tile http://www.firedearth.com/tiles/tile-type/mosaics/incense0 -
There's a horrible cold going round at my school. Yesterday it got me.
I've had mine about a week and a half. It's only now its on the wane that I've been told about the saline up the nose thing that people are using to stop it.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? One incentive that works really well is to put the ciggy money aside to save for something that's a treat for you (ie not a necessity). In my case I was into hifi and I saw someone selling their bang and olufson receiver and turntable for £65 (this was 1983). Lovely jubbly!
Congratulations
I suspect a new cartridge would be in order for the turntable if you haven't changed it already. It shouldn't cost that much.
Check the arm bearings for any play, and a lubrication of the main bearing on the table with some fine grade oil would not go amiss.
A 1983 receiver will have capacitors onboard which may well be past their best. If you're handy with a soldering iron they are not so hard to replace. Otherwise, a local shop would do a service.
Main point though; go grab some second hand records; give them a clean and a spin
(Be careful, when you reach a point where you have to 'scatter' records in different rooms to disguise the sheer number, you will get found out)

I found that cigarette substitutes were hopeless as they didn't address the central issue which was nicotine addiction.
Cold turkey worked for me on approximately the 100th attempt at quitting.
Having a job stopped me from working during the day. Having a girlfriend who refused to let me anywhere near her if I had been smoking finished the job. I didn't touch a cigarette for 2 years. Unfortunately I started again on the day we split up.0 -

Wish I still had that stuff. Sold it at quite a profit when I moved to that there London. My most recent hifi, bought in good MSE fashion from Richer Sounds IIRC, is up in the attic somewhere with boxes of my old LP records.
It's all digital radio, CDs and mp3s for me now, alas. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Didn't realise you smoked with all the running etc that you do?0 -
I'm hoping this is the cold I had a couple of weeks ago rather than a new one - the kids may be coughing again or alternatively they may still be coughing...
It is very nice that TWH has finally outed himself (as an NP) and joined the thread.
MY Laurel trimmer is coming tomorrow not today (of course) and has admitted it is for what we suspected. Hopefully they will bring a chainsaw as I could quite happily lose the top 15 feet of the 'bushes'!!!
LIR if you don't mind me asking do you think part of your recent problems could have been the fear that it was a replay of your previous problems and that getting reassurance from the consultant on that front is a good part of the reason you are feeling better?I think....0 -

I have upgraded that many bits on my turntable it feels a bit like Trigger's new broom(Only Fools n horses).
Of course, none of this exercise was MSE in any way. Now I know how people who have classic cars feel; reason and spending sense go out the window when it's a cherished item.0 -

Triggers broom. That's one of my favourites:rotfl:. Thanks for rekindling that memory. I do think it is worthwhile repairing and upgrading stereo bits. They are so much better built than most stuff on the market these days (unless you go for small/specialist companies). My husband just doesn't get the whole iPod thing and says the sound is terrible. He does have a Colorfly mind you. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
