I was going to post a link to something at the other place, but it's being browsed by some rather odd sounding members. Has it been infiltrated?!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

A conversation overheard at my library today:
"Hello there, do you have any Casual Vacancies?"
"Sorry madam, we don't use casual staff, but I can give you the details for our recruitment team"
"I don't understand, I only want a book."Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I like it
(took me a moment)
And it genuinely did happen. We often get people coming in not giving us quite the right titles for books, but generally the consequences aren't as funny. The one that stumped me was (to a young person borrowing a big picture book of words in Spanish):
"Oh that looks a great book, are you going on holiday to Spain?"
" No, not Spain, the other one."
"Oh, Portugal perhaps."
"No, now what's it called, er, oh I remember, Essex"Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Looks ok now?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly. Today was the first time in over 15 years of teaching that I actually had a kid say that her homework had been eaten by the new puppy.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Middle son on Tuesday night spent 5 hours doing his physics homework, he was absolutely determined he was going to get it worked out and neither I nor the rest of the family could help him as it went straight over our heads.
He got the results today....100%, a very impressed teacher and the only one in the class to get all the questions right.
Even after he explained it all to me, I still didn't understand.......We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

I feel that now is the time to try again (about 50th time lucky)
The best I've managed to do is 3 days last year, and that was because I was too ill to get up and go to the shop, when we were out.
