I hate having animals around my laundary (though it happens) because thats when it gets hairy and dusty. I would rather have my dogs ion the floor in the rest of the house. i also am not keen on dogs where i cook. Atm temp kitchen, as you know, is next to them. Even that is too close imo. I don't mind them coming in where we ear if they lie down and behave. I dislike dogs begging excessively.
Sometimes i miss dog dog in bed......but not often. When she is an only dog we might have to have a different plan, But problem is, if she starts the night on her bed ipn the floor of pur bedroom she tiptoes up on the bed when we fall asleep.0 -
Urgh, so we went to pick up a tree i ordered in spring that has come in. It is BEAUTIFUL, by far the nicest i have ever seen. I hope i don't kill it
. Its very young, and is goi g to have to be potted on this winter.
.
While we were looking round we found two bargain hollies, one is seven feet tall but a bit skinny and male, so he was only £12 and a huge indian bean tree that had been forgotten about and was only £30. I want a ghinko ( mine is tiny and struggling) then no more room for deciduous trees. There is a nursery in west sussex that specialise in non deciduous broad leaf trees i want to go to some time. No rush. Mext year will do. But i am so read to plant trees and its killing me we cannot get the leylandi roots out to get these guys in.
Edit: the hollies came home with us, but the other two are being delivered as they were too big to bring home!! Hurrah, hurrah!0 -

Well, its not foolproof, but at this time of year they have berries....or thE girls do! Of ot goes wrong it can only be a happy mistake that your boy turns out to be a berry producing girl after all!
When they are ion flower the flowers are different in males and females, which is most reliable way, because thats not dependant on what they have been near.
Holly berries are of course delightful, but i would rather have a holly tree with no berries cheaply than not iyswim. We have planted a few dozen tiny hollies, and not sure, but i think we have mainly males. We have at least three females, so the birds will get something and so will i for winter decorations in years to come. From now on i should, i were to be good anout it, only buy girls, but tbh, leaves mean more to me that berries. I only buy common holly, no variagation in the leaves, and oly red berries, no weird orange ones. Also, happily, the cheapest. My ones from lidl have done really really well, the ones from the specialist tree grower least well, and ones from another local nursery best of all. Its going to be years before they are a hedge though, and i expect a few more to die before then.0 -
Right, thats my pelargoniums in for the season. They are COVERED in potential cuttings lydia.
Are you open as to colours of leaf and flower? I can have you well stocked up for your conservatory!0 -

Pastures, you either have to leave, or to sit down and have an honest conversation about what would make it bearable. It shouldn't be, but the latter may be the higher stakes strategy, depending on how she would respond.
Incidentally, if you want me to take this down later pm me and I will. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
